Perfect for those who run their own business like sole traders, the iZettle card reader allows you to take card payments, including contactless payments, easily with an average of just 5 seconds per transaction.

The reader works with iOS and Android devices with Bluetooth, and allows you to keep an accurate record of your transactions, along with an easy-to-use product library. The app also gives you access to free reports and analytics, to help you push your business further.

What other benefits are there?

No lock-in contracts

Pay as you go - you only pay per transaction

No merchant account needed - get payments in your bank account within 2-3 working days.

Battery life of the reader is 8 hours, or 100 transactions. and will charge via USB. If that doesn't meet your needs, you can pick up the iZettle reader + Dock together for £46.80 including VAT.

The dock charges your card reader, as well as doubling as an ideal display for the reader, on your counter.

Sound good? Hit the 'Get Link' deal to get started, and after signing up, you should have your card reader in a few days. Simple!

Good price Square is a good alternative but its a slightly higher upfront cost (and I think more people will trust the look of the iZettle reader when passing card info across). Square has a lower transaction fee at 1.75% (2.5% for manual, same as iZettle).
Chargeback information if anyone was wondering

Transaction Protection

Our transaction protection program will cover up to £250 of your chargebacks each month, provided you’ve followed our best practices for accepting card payments.

A chargeback arises when a card holder contacts his/her issuing bank disputing a card payment. The reason behind this could be one of many, such as the card holder not being satisfied with the product/service purchased or not remembering making the purchase at all.

You’ll be notified by us via email as soon as we’re informed of a chargeback, and you'll then have 10 days to get back to us with the information requested in the email.

Our transaction protection program will cover any chargeback no matter the outcome as long as (1) we determine that the disputed card payment was carried out in accordance with our terms and conditions, (2) all requested information has been provided to us within the stated time parameters and (3) the chargeback is within the £250 monthly coverage
Looking at the display in that photo, I can imagine a customer baulking at £50,00 instead of the £50.00 they were expecting.
Is this purely just for business use?

I could do with something like this for personal use!
I'm always the one forking out for meals out etc and it's never easy getting money off people, but contactless payments into my account sound perfect!

(I know you can use online banking without any charges, but not everybody has that set up unfortunately!)

My thoughts exactly. Seeing that comma I expect three noughts after the "50" (i.e. 50,000) and I'd definitely be baulking at that. Very amateurish.

Last night (or the night before) it was £29.99+vat as I was looking to get it. I think the offers come and go but £19+vat is the best price i've personally seen it.
Sumup 1.95% fixed, so better for lower use

Yes you can. I wanted a second reader for my business and iZettle wouldn't give me a deal on second reader, so I got a deal similar to this in my wife's name and used her account details :-)

What does Manual mean? I'm a bit confused with fees
£59+VAT for existing accounts. No discount at all.
I bought a SumUp reader for mobility business selling adapted cars, and the conditions to
abide to,with extra invoices etc were not worth the bother. They did give me card reader money back after prompting less handling fee about £5.00.

Isn't it easier to get them to pay the bill using their credit card at the restaurant, most will take multiple part payments.

Paym, PayPal or soon ApplePay

You're missing the point - the amount shown on the display is for British pounds £, so why should it display the Swedish decimal mark, it should display £50.00 for British pound and 50,00 kr for Swedish krona, not £50,00. There is no mix and match.

If you have a lot of transactions, look at traditional pdq machines.

Hi there Have you any of the codes left please?

Oh, Incase the magnetic strip is not working? Do they still have to enter their pin?
Any good for those not on PAYE who provide dodgy services for shady characters?

That's a great price for the reader and stand though for anyone contemplating a purchase be mindful that you'll need a Star Micronics printer if you wish to offer receipts. I think the least expensive is around £150 - I've tried a chip-and-pin thermal printer to no avail.

sumup is the way I went. lower fee. money in next day
Heat added - although now I know why local businesses ask for cash only...
Can you type in £20 and then bump into people on the street until you collide with a person with a contactless card in their pocket? I feel like one night in a London nightclub and I'd be a few grand richer. Oh I've given all the criminals on hukd ideas tonight oO

What's wrong with bank transfer?
I've used izettle but prefer WorldPay Zinc. Very decent price though for this card reader

Well.. would you walk Tesco and pay for your shopping by bank transfer...? ...exactly lol X)
Seen a few traders at a gaming expo using these. Transaction was quick and smooth. Nifty little device.

You need to update the app, my partners kept crashing until we updated it.
Have a card reader lite already. Just found out won't work with iPhone 7 as no audio jack. So as no offer for existing customers been told will have to fork out for a new card reader that does
The VAT miscalculated for me on the website and the total with VAT comes out above the correct £22.80, I'm getting 23% VAT. Will be phoning the company in the morning to fix.
Does this use for anywhere and anytime?
This is a great device, very easy to use. However, customer service is appalling. My device is 18 months old, and after two weeks not in use started showing an error message. iZettle wouldn't touch it, and just suggested buying a new reader a full price. Very disappointing.

Mine broke after 13 months with hardly any use, same reply from them.
