Bought one of these 18 months ago at about three times this price. Certainly not the best on the market anymore but for this price I do not believe you will buy better. Tough, good battery life and pretty impressive sound for the size and price.

Used mine on the beach loads of times on holiday and works a treat.

Portable Size. Massive Sound.

The go-anywhere, do-anything portable wireless speaker that lets you share your music everywhere. All you have to do is provide the tunes and Solemate will do the rest.

Ready for Action

Chuck it in your bag, throw it to your friends and take it along for the ride to keep the party going. You really can take your Solemate anywhere. Its durable design is dust and splash resistant and the rugged, rubber sole can handle the bumps and knocks of the journey.

Pump up the Volume

Don't let your eyes deceive you - this small speaker is loud. It packs a powerful woofer and a custom-designed bass slave for mind-bending lows and dual tweeters for soaring highs. The Solemate sounds great at any level, go ahead and turn it up.

Well-connected

You can pair it wirelessly via Bluetooth. Solemate also works with a 3.5 mm audio cable or USB cable. Solemate plays wirelessly up to 10 metres away, so you can DJ the party from across the room.

Say Hello to the Ultimate Entertainment Centre

The Solemate doesn't stop at music. Take your calls or video chats to the next level by using Solemate as your own personal speakerphone or use your Solemate to transform your computer or tablet into a portable cinema, stereo or arcade.

How much should it cost? And yes you are indeed correct it is a speaker and no, it doesn't do anything else because it's errr a speaker!

£20 is a max I would pay for this, for £44 I hope I would get DAB radio with bluetooth (which are pricey as well). Hey this is a lot of money for some peeps and we all know it is ridiculous cheap to make.

one of the reviews: It announces (loudly) "Soulmate is connected" in an annoying American voice when first turned on, and it doesn't do very low volumes (sometimes I wanted a lower volume setting if it is right next to me).

oh, and I am sorry, it does something else, conference phone/speaker just in case you phone would not have this feature...

Ah right, so just because you can't afford something it's not worth the money? That's fine, we are fortunate enough to be in a world where we have choice. Cheap products which are cheap for a reason, or if you have a little more money a better built, more technical device. Or if you have EVEN more money you can buy something expensive.

I don't normally care about cheapskates but in this instance I actually have this product and paid a lot more for it that the current price. As such at the existing price is really does represent excellent value.

I spent a bleeding packet on my KEF IQ surround sound speakers (pictured below).

Now I find out that as they are "only speakers" they are worth no more than £20.

To state the obvious I am bloody fizzing.

Has anyone got contact details for watchdog?

Don't worry. Tell you what, save you any embarrassment I'll give you £100 for them? I know, I know i'm paying well over the odds but it does equate to £20 EACH and I don't even want a discount for a bulk purchase.
