Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey
A warm amber colour with aromas of sweet vanilla, this is a smooth, full-bodied whiskey, with flavours of orange, brown sugar and spice, and a long rich finish.
It is this unique way of making whiskey and the extra steps such as charcoal mellowing that makes Jack Daniel's what it is - a smooth sipping Tennessee whiskey and not a bourbon. Jack Daniel registered his distillery in 1866, making it the oldest registered distillery in the United States. It's here in Lynchburg that every drop of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey is still produced and bottled today.

1 Litre bottle, 40 serves in every bottle (25ml per serve).

This stuff is rank. Grab your self some Glenfiddich instead.

Glenfiddich is a whiskey and this is a bourbon. Why are you even comparing them?
The honey version is the same price too as my wife has just bought some:)

When it comes to whisky Glenfiddich is lower end league 2

That’s for the 70CL not 1L

I bought it last week, Woodthorpe, York £18. It only just went to this price.

No, it's not. It's a Tennesse whiskey. It amazes me that you don't even know what it is you are drinking.

Tennessee Whiskey is a type of bourbon. All TWs are bourbon, but not all bourbons are TWs.

Its very very similar to a bourbon regarding how it's made from my research , somehow JD managed to avoid the status (on purpose apparently).

Tennessee Whiskey's legal definition is "a straight Bourbon whiskey authorized to be produced only in the State of Tennessee". JDs marketing reject the word bourbon to give it a more distinct place in the market.

It should also be noted that Jack Daniels pushed for the Tennessee Government to push for more specific legislation on what constitutes Tennessee Whiskey purely to disadvantage smaller breweries making the same product in a slightly different manner. These breweries now have to label themselves as Bourbon.

Does it matter what it is called? What it tastes like is obviously more important.
I love a good bourbon. But jack Daniel's is anything but a good bourbon.
Keep moving along the shelf till you find woodford reserve. £23 for 70cl. But infinitely better.
I'll grab one on my way in tonight, ready for the weekend "morons" should drown out the covid experts and local price hunters
Jim Beam double oak is £20 I think in Morrisons and so much better than this. Standard JD is just a sour mash, not a proper bourbon.

Personal opinion at end of the day but that’s only a 70cl, much rather have a 1L for just £2 more.
Was full price in Scotland, jin EK as I ended up buying the 70cl for my dad at £18 since I missed the Tesco one at £16 earlier in the week

If you'd rather drink Jack Daniels standard over Jim Beam Double Oak which is an actual bourbon then im sorry but you're not a Bourbon fan.

Jack Daniels is not a bourbon it’s a sour mash so I don’t know what you’re talking about, I do like standard Jim beam though.

Ye it isn't a bourbon. Bourbon is made differently. Just saying if you like bourbon then why drink this? You get much better drinks for same price, yes smaller but taste a lot better whether mixed or straight. Wild turkey, Jim Beam (massive range), knob creek, eagle rare. Jim beam signature is probably my favourite. JD do some good whiskey though like silver select.
Jacks drinkers look at this Deal and see £22 a litre.

I don`t even know why people are arguing over other Brands
MattyGr29/05/2020 18:05

No it isn't, it's £32

Was going to buy it yesterday for my grandson £18. Litre bottle. Bought him a jd gift set instead.
