Good price - seems to do this a few times a year when I stock up. Normally goes to £15 per 70cl at Christmas, but this is a great price for 1l.
Heat from me.

same price for the honey as well £20 for 1 ltr

Good price for a litre, but there are much better bourbons for about the same money.

Most over rated whiskey on the market. Also It's Tennessee whiskey, not bourbon.

"Jack Daniels meets the US Federal Laws in order for it to be called a bourbon whiskey."

This was said by Robert, who ever the F he is.

This is my favourite Sour Mash. Over priced or not, If I like it, I'll buy it

Thanks OP

At this price I will be investing! Thanks very much.

Well, the Buffalo Trace was around £17 in Morrisons at the beginning of the month for one.
Edited by: "Krooner" 18th Oct 2016

Yes! I was going to order some from Asda for £25 but I'm glad I waited. Not had any of this stuff for over 3 months! HOT!

Will wait till Friday and get some from Tesco with the price match and staff double discount

Lidls used to do a decent cheap sour mash whisky (Western Gold I think it was called). Dont know if they still sell it but once added with Coke you couldn't tell it apart from JD. Anyways voted hot for this deal as I'll be stocking up

£18 in Morrison's , this JD deal is £14 in comparison (price per 70cl) so I'd rate this as a better deal.

Bourbon comes from Bourbon County in Kentucky. This is Tennessee whiskey which is why nothing sold by JD has the word 'bourbon' on it.

I can tell the difference, and I'm sure a lot of JD drinkers can. But lidls own was pretty good still.

No it doesn't. bourbon county is dry. There are no distillery's there. You're not far off the reason though...

The only state that can be associated with bourbon is Kentucky. you can't have a Tennessee Bourbon or a Mississippi Bourbon. Tennessee wanted there own drink and "Tennessee Whiskey" was born. It's legally classified as a bourbon. It drinks like a bourbon. It crosses state lines as a "bourbon"... It's a bourbon.

No argument it's a good deal, I'm just saying that you can find a nicer drink for about the same price if you want.

Not fussed on Buffalo Trace, tried it but didn't have much taste. However always grab JB Devils cut or Bulleit when they occasionally drop to £16.

what's the sour mash like?

I do like Bulleit. Used to be £15 for 70cl regularly, but seems to be creeping up in price lately.

Sour mash just means it uses a kicker from the last batch. So each batch tasted the same.

Agreed! I heard of it a while ago when it was winning countless awards in the good ole US of A. Tried it for the first time last week whilst in Cyprus. At just under €9 a bottle it was rude not to. I am very much a fan of JD, but I must admit, it tastes very similar, if not better! Anyway, £20 for a litre ain't bad, especially for honey.....yum! Heat!

Just been to Sainsburys in Coventry and It is £23 not £20. Same goes for the Honey.

£18 ltr in the sainsburys near me today!

I still have stock from when Morrissons were selling 1L for £15

Does it works with new account codes?

Bide your time and Morrisons will have it for £15 before too long along with deals on chocolate tubs, Baileys and boxes of beer.
