According to their website, it has a water column rating of 1500mm which is considered "waterproof" for this type of bag (most products that claim to be waterproof are actually just water-resistant, including this one). But seems like a good deal if you want an alternative to similar bags on amazon.
is there no backing to this rucsac? in which case they look strange on your back, as they do not hold their shape.
Nice that it packs away though, but does not look as good or feel as comfortable as those with structure, or padding on the back.
Possibly just about Ryanair friendly too?

If you know of any similar sized "rucksacks" that are this compact, at a similar price but also have "backing" as you describe it can you post a link?

Also given the material used for its construction and foldaway design I don't think these are intended to be a fashion accessory. You seem to be comparing apples and pears!
Cold, made of Polyester, NOT real wolf skin.
Good price... Still waiting for a day pack that looks decent though.

Thank you i’ve expired now.
Back in stock!
I've got one of these bags and I'm pretty happy with it (although I paid the full whack..£34.99 about 6 months ago). Its a really light but surprisingly roomy pack, which has survived some light drizzle and kept everything inside dry. My main criticism is the straps..they have no padding at all and twist up really easily, so I find myself having to adjust them quite frequently when walking.
I bought my wife a similar pack from the National Trust for £18. It's about the same size, also folds into its own pocket, but has slightly more sturdy straps. I would have got one for myself in preference to the JW one, but they only sell it in grey and I didn't want us to look like Howard and Hilda (Ever Decreasing Circles, for those with a good memory) when we are out walking together.
Here's a link to the National Trust one, if anyone wants to check it out: shop.nationaltrust.org.uk/nat…tml38302542-4oFSj.jpg
The National Trust claim this bag is vegan friendly, so you won't face the embarrassment of it trying to attack any passing vegans.
