Jack Wolfskin Skyrocket II Dome Tent £110 @ Explore Outdoors

This tent is an absolute bargain in my opinion at this price. I’m not too familiar with Explore Outdoors but I price matched with Cotswold. I bought this tent at £200 a couple years ago and it comfortable fitted two adults and both 60lt kit bags and we still had a little room to move around. It’s easy to pitch even in the worst of British conditions. There was zero condensation in the mornings and wasn’t cold or draughty either. There is also a code to take it down to £99 (SALE10).

This is the website details for it:

This two-person dome tent with innovative ventilation is easy to pitch. The zip door vent and two roof vents vents ensure good air circulation in the inner tent. Thanks to the dome construction, the Skyrocket II is ultra sturdy even without guylines. Six 1 inner pockets and a removable gear loft ensure adequate storage space for small items in the inner tent.

If you can't see the value in a deal then it's not for you.

But carry it all in a 60l rucksack and hike with that and clothing, provisions and sleep gear for a good few miles.
Low weight and bulk means a lot!

You start with 110, divide it by 2, times it by 4 then multiply it by 1.6. Then you divide it by the density of the saturation point of the canvas in lake district weather. I think you then you either + or - 4 then drink a bottle of wine

You are correct you can buy a 4 man tent for less money. But the quality won’t be the same as things like weight; durability; stability etc will all be better the more you spend. There are some 1 man tents over a £1000 and are also a bargain if you are willing to pay for it. All depends on what you want to use it for etc. Personally I think this is a great buy, some may not agree. Not all ‘deals’ are for everyone. I have many tents, some 10 times this amount some a third of this but it’s a very good all round tent for the price.

Looks ok for the money tho have no experience of their branded tents, but I personally would want a sub 1.5kg for my uses.

Doesn't matter how many tents you have inside another tent, which is a daft concept anyway, you would still produce condensation from the human body. Which is why vents are a good idea. Just saying like

Condensation does not "come from the human body".

It comes from the cold outside air meeting slightly less cold air inside the tent.

The larger tent would gather the most condensation as it is the meeting point of the cold air outside and the warmer air inside the tent.

Very little would form in the smaller tent inside the larger one, as the temperature difference between the inside of the large tent and the smaller tent would be a lot smaller than the temperature difference between the inside of the large tent and the air outside the larger tent.

You are welcome for the education.
website is also advertising use of the code "SALE10" for a further 10 percent off this.

Wrong. Where do you think the moisture comes from? Clueless.

I was wrong to doubt them, it arrived today.

A bit heavier than I would have liked but I'm not sure you'd get one much lighter for the price. Plus it has the advantage of being self-standing so can be pitched anywhere as long as it's not too windy.

Thanks OP for posting.
