Yes, one of those pesky indian cars designed in Coventry, engineered in Coventry and Gaydon, built in Castle Bromwich using an engine assembled in Wolverhampton.

£18 + for maintained? Heat, sadly the emissions are far too high for me. Co2 of 170 would see quite punishing BIK tax

Still a write off of £8k no?

Can you elaborate on the emission consequence?

The 170 co2 will give you a BIK rate of 35%. You’ll be paying 5-6k a year if you have this model as a BIK, not quite 8k.

m5rcc where are you.....
BIK?
BIK (benefit in kind) is only applicable if you take this as a company car or salary sacrifice. As mentioned, it would be very high on this car, especially if you're in the 40% tax bracket.
If Dave Ramsey was here he'd say it's not leasing but "fleecing"!

Why not take out as a personal lease and claim mileage & parking back. Although it won’t cover the full cost of the lease at least it will subsidise part of the lease cost.
Can a mod edit the title to include the word lease please? I've missed this because it doesn't have lease in the title. Thanks
The deals they have on other XFs are very competitive too, I'm waiting on a call back on a R sport saloon.

You would have to really, really want that car. My 31k motor costs me about £100 in BIK tax a month.

What is this using foreign workers legally because you can't get the skills locally at a sensible price that is unique to this firm and brand new to the country, of which you speak?

The scam.. Advertise a job at a low rate you know a UK worker will not appy for eg £25k for an experienced IT guy.
Claim there is as skill shortage, as you cannot find people.

Employ an Indian, pay £25k (they are good at their job). Also pay accommodation expenses, subsistence etc tax free and pay an Indian salary in India.
Indian gets the equivalent of £50 gross, yet it costs the employer less.
Use the intra-companyt transfer scam to get a visa in days.
Tata-to JLR.

Simple scam. No shortage of skills. Just a shortage of people who will work at low rates.
How sad for UK students. Degree costs £50k. Indian degree costs £5k.

Anyone know the dleiv time on these? My leon goes back next February
So the better option is to send the factory abroad to such as India and thus lose some more of the manufacturing sector and skill sets as well as taxes and those accommodation premiums paid into the economy??
Very nice. Almost regretting the Volvo v90 now

He's right you know. I'm also in the IT game. It's impossible to get an IT job at JLR. They are the biggest employer around here by far...yet no IT jobs. None. Even though the IT is based about 2 miles from here. It's all contracted out and all the staff are in on work permits.

PS I have no issue with immigration. I think it's positive. But let's not all jump on the "buy British don't be a traitor" band wagon. They dont give two hoots about what is best for Britain.

The UK govt gives them tax breaks to make them stay and make it look like all is good with the world.

Any work permit must be for a salary of £100k+
Work permits subject to a annual 25% overseas employment tax on top, to be a disincentive plus a £5k processing fee with monthly evidence of tax payments.

Not a chance. They ship them over here, board them, pay them back home and a third of the salary they would be paying the equivalent UK worker. Capability? Yes if they're told "exactly" what to do, but if not managed to this degree not really worth the hassle. As others are said, if you don't believe this, you've just been told...

I was in the game and my Indians were paid NET. If tax went up, I paid the extra. As I paid expenses they were effectively paid more than a British employee gets NET, but less than a British contractor. The margin was mine!
The government encourages it to keep the large companies happy. It should be stopped.

You are aware that it is not just jlr that use overseas resource for IT. It's like every major company in the western world. Engineering resource as well.

True, but its the practice and the way it's being done that is underhand. Especially when the UK staff are being made redundant and replaced with said people (and which is technically illegal).

Really ? jobs.jaguarlandrovercareers.com/sea…e=+
Just because your IT skills are not relevant to JLR does not mean that there are no jobs
Price on the saloon has jumped up since yesterday by around £15 on the R-Sport, I filled an application in yesterday but have heard nothing back since, maybe too good to be true after all.
Has anyone actually been able to place an order?
Be very careful of Select Car Leasing. Their after sales service is really poor. Once they got your money they dont want to know. Cars are delivered driven and this impacts your overall mileage (mine had 400 on the clock when delivered), unfortunately this counts towards your lease mileage. I would never be dealing with this company again, should have learnt my lesson after my first experience with them but put it down to a one off and got stung a second time as well.
