Thought they were a good price for blu ray

Very good price. But I have the VHS collection, the DVD collection, I then upgraded to the special edition DVD,s. Obviously as a fan / collector I would love these but where does one draw the line?

You know you want them... stop asking for reasons why you shouldn't "buy another day"! [very poor, sorry... at least I didn't type "Live & Let Buy"]

Seriously though, good prices for the limited run available on Blu-ray Disc so far, but as mentioned... (if the current legal wrangling with regards the Bond franchise are resolved) the Blu-ray Disc boxed set will be available eventually, then a new version will be available every few years to keep up with the movie releases... then Super Blu-ray Discs... then... digital only.

So there is the line!

"Heat added".

thats a good point, how do we justify to blu ray they cant be that much better there old films.

Quality does improve, although actually the transfers of the older films are better than that of Die Another Day!

If you need reassurance that old films can be made to look fantastic on blu-ray, then buy the original Italian Job - looks virtually perfect.

The original negative of a film is 'analogue' so it could be blown up to many times the resolution of bluray. It's all down to how well they do the transfer. In the future, digital movies that were filmed in 1080p will actually be at a disadvantage because they'd have to be upscaled to whatever resolution.

I saw From Russia With Love at the cinema as a digital projection and it was incredible, I have already got the blu-ray from Amazon at this price, and the difference between the blu-ray and the dvd is startling.
I do have the dvd set already, but had to get this one movie as it is my fave Bond, super price for incredible films

Not seen the Blu rays but I noticed a HUGE difference in quality from the normal DVD's and the re-mastered ones they did, picture was really cleaned up, 5.1 sound for the older films etc too.

The Dr No DVD and Blu rays are miles apart - Dr No is a superb transfer - check out the review at ]DVDBeaver

My rule would be...if you already have these on another format then only buy them in the new format when they have reached absolute rock bottom price. This is not rock bottom for me.

It may however be best price at the moment. Depends on how much you really want them I suppose.

These are the same price at HMV and you get QUIDCO there also
