£12.50 a kilo is a reasonable price, but £25 a kilo is seriously expensive!

Might be worth tasting at this price.

Might see if i can get some of this

Jamie Oliver's cheese?!

Grate!

Stocked up already, December use by date, most other supermarkets charge £25 to £30 a kilo for this.

It has not got much taste!

Unfortunately most if not all mass produced, rushed out to market Parmigiano and Parmesan Cheese is quite bland and tasteless. Try and find some home made at a Farmers market,or better yet the Travelling European Food Markets you'll not believe the difference.

Or make your own, its actually quite easy if time consuming.

£2.49 seems to be about the going rate for 'non-celebrity' versions so not really a hot deal in my view. All this celebrity endorsement stuff is getting seriously out of control - he doesn't actually make it himself you know!

Offer ends today in my local.

As a suggestion, concerning the expiry date, I always put my parmesan in the freezer. It's just as easy to grate and will last longer.

I can second this, it's very bland. But the flavour (though mild) is nice.

Surely if it's Parmigiano Reggiano, gotta be D.O.P. [Also meaning it's not vegetarian, so I won't be eating]. Is there that much variation in flavour between these local producers??

Ainsley Harriott may not be a top chef and he's a bit of a prat, but some of the products under his name are pretty good value. Oliver though takes the p***... he's all about feathering his nest with products at 2x or 3x standard prices.. the most laughable I saw though is this bog-standard mug with the most basic print (and crass message at that) you can imagine, in a throwaway tin, for £10. Yes, £10.

I suppose at least he is a chef - what a boxer has to do with designing grills really beats me! Apparently Alan Titchmarch can turn his hand to virtually anything!
