I'm into my Ultravox, Depeche Mode, Talk Talk and a few others, but I don't know much about Japan, is this worth the purchase?

Worth the price for "Ghosts" alone, seminal tune.

:santa:

very much worth it

once youve got it, the next step is to buy "Tin drum" one of the best albums of the 80's

Can I add a resounding "YES" also. Excellent and incredibly talented 80s band. David Sylvian was/is a fantastic talent

great!

I prefer a Quiet Life.....

For me Oil on Canvas would be my first choice.

It's live, so not for everyone, perhaps, but having said that, I also have Tin Drum.

But for a smidge under three squids The Very Best Of is a good introduction to their music, for anyone who hasn't heard them before..

Absolutely tremendous stuff! I wouldn't care if I never heard any Ultravox ever again but Depeche Mode & Talk Talk have superb back catalogues. This album would be a very worthwhile addition, up to 1983, Japan was for my money the best of them.

As others have said YES!. Brilliant band.

Very unique band .. Sylvians vocals are at times haunting, Fripp on Bass was quite amazing his talent was endless. This is a great spot by the OP... thanks !! I would recommend this cd for any 80s fan or anyone who seriously loves great vocals bass and synthesiser

A bargain indeed. I bought this at full price about a year ago. Like some others, I think 'Ghosts' in an awesome, haunting tune. H&R.

Actually, Mick Karn was the bassist in Japan ;-)

Oil On Canvas and Quiet Life (especially Alien & The Other Side Of Life) formed the soundtrack of my mid-teens.

I would also recommend Everything And Nothing by David Sylvian. Where you might find Robert Fripp .
It's showing as £4.99 on the HMV website....

Looks like £4.99 to me. I'm confused.
