Or better still pop into a local Chinese supermarket and pick one up - a well looked after carbon steel wok can last a life-time - and actually gets better with age.

You are right it come off then go rusty :-D

For this price you might get a dozen uses out of it and you still have the bowls and spoons. I tend to buy cheap woks anyway and throw them away (like i do with deep fat fryers). Just a pity there are no netto's near me, voted hot anyway.

Or get this one (posted a few days ago on here but cant find the link)
Obviously you can't use it with very high heat for real stirfry cooking, but with a medium heat it should be much easier to maintain than a carbon steel. This is much better quality than the basic tefals.

Thats the problem with these woks. Too high a heat and the coating starts coming off, however stir frying with a lower heat is pointless. I'd say get a wok from you asian supermarket and season it.

Best thing to do is get one from an asian supermarket, like mentioned. They are extremely cheap ranging from £2- £5 depending on the size. Also woks are best with age, and a blackened wok is a good thing. The best way to take care of them is to wash them as normal, then dry them instantly over a flame and put away. dont leave them to dry on there own or use paper towels. But this is still a good deal, and i like the bowls personally too.

even £40 ken hom woks go rusty - i've had two... would rather go for this and chuck when it goes bad... plus the bowls look great!

thanks.
got one.
