”The JBL Bar 5.0 fits a tremendous amount of value into its compact design.”’Trusted Reviews’ – Recommended

JBL MultiBeam technology for a surround sound experience
JBL’s MultiBeam technology places five speakers within a single soundbar, creating a 5-channel surround sound experience – from a single soundbar. Speakers mounted at both ends of the soundbar project and reflect the sound behind you, giving you the feeling of being immersed.

Virtual Dolby Atmos
JBL’s MultiBeam technology is further optimised by Virtual Dolby Atmos processing. This uses the MultiBeam speakers to create the impression of ‘height’ speakers. With the effect of sound from above, Virtual Dolby Atmos makes you feel more part of the environment – be it a jungle or sports stadium.

Dedicated centre channel for the clearest dialogue
Housing a dedicated centre speaker channel, the JBL Bar 5 delivers perfect vocal clarity. Having a dedicated centre speaker makes dialogue easier to follow and gives the whole movie a more natural sound – it’s like the actors are there in the room with you! Built-in subwoofer
Featuring four, built-in passive bass cones, the Bar 5.0 has the power it needs to drive basslines. The built-in drivers help build the tension in action movies and make your music sound richer and more dynamic.

Google Chromecast, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth, for the complete networking experience
As well as bringing your TV to life, the Bar 5.0 also offers a wide range of music streaming options. Built-in Google Chromecast lets you stream Hi-Res Audio music from your chosen device. With Google Play Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music HD, Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer, Qobuz and many others available, you’ll never be without music. Alternatively, this JBL soundbar is compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth – covering your every streaming music requirement.

Works with Alexa and Google Assistant
Compatible (not built-in) with Amazon and Google voice assistants, the JBL Bar 5.0 integrates with your voice-operated household. It’s also compatible with Amazon’s MRM (Multi-Room Music) protocol, meaning you can use the speaker as part of an integrated multi-room Alexa system.

HDMI with 4K pass-through
Meeting HDCP 2.2 standards, this JBL soundbar is the perfect match for your UHD 4K TV and source. By using the enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) HDMI, it's possible to both get the sound from and the images to your TV with just a single HDMI lead.

Works with your TV remote control
This JBL soundbar is designed to work with many of today's top TV remote controls, so you can use your existing TV remote control for both TV and soundbar.

Feel part of the movie, with the JBL Bar 5.0.

Got it paired to LG C1. Very happy with the performance. Bass is very good for its size

I think no stand alone sound bar is going to give a proper Dolby Atmos. I tried a few and none were near to the Dolby Atmos you get with real speakers around you.
This soundbar has bass and sits well under the TV. It didn't spoil the set up and appearance of the room either.

I agree with this. You either go big and spend a considerable amount, or you forget about it. I still believe the Samsung soundbars are better priced now with cashback and a better alternative if you're willing to spend on rears. My Q700A with rears and Q Symphony is fine, 5.1.4, but nothing out of ordinary. At £600 in total (on sale, before the cashback came) I am certainly not impressed. But a Q600A with rears is about £300 now and I think is better. Anyway, this has 5 speakers, so the price is more than decent. Not sure how it compares with Samsung S61A at £80 after cashback, that's a bargain.

I bought the q600a which was for £130 after cashback. Sound was OK not ground breaking. Bass was weak tbh. The add on sub woofer didn't go along well that's why went for a all in one sound bar.

Yep, I've got the Q700A and without rears is rubbish. And with rears is just OK but only because I have Q Symphony too. I am not impressed but this may be because you can get it cheaper now, with cashback. At the price I've paid for the whole system, the JBL 9.1 is definitely a better buy.
With regards to something maybe similar to this one, while I've never tried it (still in the box), I do believe the Samsung S61A is a good alternative at only £79 after cashback.

Yes but reading the comments in the s61a deal I'm not interested at all. It has issues with connection and also Samsung cashback being a pain.
Only time will say how tech develops..

I've used Samsung cashback 4 times and never had issues. Including for a few S61A. I've sold 2 of them to my friends, for a cheap price. Both are very happy, one of them actually returned his Dolby Atmos system suggesting he did not noticed much of a difference in between his system and the S61A. I've got one left debating if I should sell it. I want to keep it, but not sure where I will use it

Samsung S61a from recent cash back deals worked out practically free, but the sound is nowhere near as good as this JBL 5.0 multibeam.
