Great as monitors. Zero bass though, needs a sub to go with it

I've been thinking about whether to get a sonos play 5 or the sonos amp with speakers. This sort of thing has potential with the sonos amp

It loses the bottom two octaves of the sound spectrum.

decent little speaker for the price

Don't forget these are not the proper control 1 s as they have the smaller driver.

These might make good surround speakers for 5,1 look a bit like the ones they have at out cinema the ones on the side seem quite tiny much smaller than what I use at home.

Same old price for over 20 years now.

How do you mean? I'm not aware of the 2 models with the same name so could you point me to the other model please? [EDIT: OK, I've figured it, you're talking about the PRO version].

These are nice little speakers & have always been good value for money, so the £10 reduction that RS are offering over the TSP makes this deal even sweeter, though it's not a vast price reduction.

You see a lot of these installed in pubs, used mainly for background music rather than Friday night band/DJ type setups. Here's a review from someone who's enthusiastic about them.

The bass is OK for home setups, but if you are really into your hifi, you'll want to get something better or at least add a decent sub.

I have these hooked to my PC, brilliant little things

I bought these approximately a year ago from John Lewis who price matched Richer Sounds at the time;

johnlewis.com/jbl…734

.....purchased as JL have the 2 year guarantee as standard.
