Smart sound multi-room playback

The revolutionary JBL Link 10 Portable Wireless Smart Sound Speaker lets you enjoy your favourite music wirelessly wherever you are in your home. It has Google Assistant built-in so you can simply ask it to play songs, albums, playlists, or radio stations without picking up your smartphone or tablet when connected to your home WiFi.

Using voice commands you can pause or stop playback, skip tracks, adjust volume, or ask what's playing.

You can enjoy crystal clear sound exactly as the artist intended. Set up and control multi-room playback over WiFi with the Google Home app with a simple step by step guide. You can connect to a Chromecast device or any speakers that have Chromecast built-in so that you can create immersive home audio.

Hands-free voice control

Google Assistant can do much more than just find your favourite songs thanks to far-field voice recognition. You can ask conversational questions, such as "what's the weather going to be like today?" or "who's the president of America?". Just start your question or command with "Ok Google" or "Hey Google".

Assistant can help with everyday tasks, such as checking your commute, set an alarm or timer, or add items to your shopping list. It can also be used with compatible smart home devices such as lighting or smart plugs, or ask it to stream a TV show or movie to your Chromecast (sold separately).

Waterproof portable design

If you want to continue listening to your favourite music while away from home, the portable design of the speaker allows you to take it with you anywhere you go. Using Bluetooth technology it can connect to your smartphone or tablet to stream your playlists.

A built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery offers up to five hours of playback time, and when it's time to recharge you can use the included USB cable to quickly restore power to the speaker.

For added peace of mind, the speaker is waterproof with an IPX 7 rating, so you don't need to worry about rains and spills whilst listening to your music – perfect for pool parties or the beach.

Speaker quality is adequate on these though

I've got a couple of the link 20s and find the speaker to be very good. All reviews I've found have always been complementary of the quality and at half price I think this is a very good deal. They aren't as good as the Sonos no but then the price isn't as high.

Do you have one, what are you comparing it with please?
These are great, i had the google home mini and the google home but quickly sent them packing and got 2 of these, since i only bought them a matter of weeks ago when it was 100hr offer at currys for £99 i took them back for a refund and click n collected 2 with a saving of £50.(picking them up tomorrow as thought it would of been abit dodgy to collect them while returning 2 of the same products lol) usually i wouldnt bother but £50 is £50 :-) p.s i think the sound on these are much better than the google home imo

Is this going to be better than a JBL Flip 3, not worried about the google thing..

Can it be used with just bluetooth and not bother with wifi?

Very pleased to see this on here today. Picked one up on my lunch. I haven't opened it yet but tried in store and it sounds reasonable. Excellent price for a battery powered, waterproof Google home for the kitchen/bathroom.

Certainly my link 20s can be used with either Bluetooth or WiFi, and they are the same bar the size. Looks like compared with the flip it has the same size speaker, and less battery and no aux in. If your not worried about the Google aspect your probably best going for the flip.

Can they be paired as stereo?

You can connect then together, I use 2 through Spotify playing the she music, so either have then around the house or together, not sure you would want to use them for surround sound though.
Can anyone who has one of these confirm if it is possible to link it via Bluetooth to play out of another speaker e.g. a Samsung Bluetooth enabled soundbar ? From what I have read about the Google Home and Mini (I understand the JBL speaker is different underlying hardware) you can only Bluetooth into them from a phone , tablet etc. You can't Bluetooth / cast out of them to another Bluetooth device, and that is only possible to Bluetooth / cast out to a chromecast, or chromescast enabled device, which is somewhat limiting in comparison to what I understand Amazon Echo / Alexa can do. If my understanding is correct thats a deal breaker for me.

Yes, can the JBL speaker Bluetooth connect out to another Bluetooth enabled speaker ? So I'd like be to be able to say something like "hey google play my saved music list via speaker 1" where speaker 1 is my TV soundbar. Or the same command but via speaker 2 where speaker 2 is my Bluetooth enabled speaker in the kitchen. Can this google assist enabled speaker do that ?

Probably not, but I'm still learning how to use them myself
I'm thinking of building up a system of several speakers around the house, all of them either with Google Assistant built in or with a Google Chromecast Audio connected. This would connect through wifi and should provide better sound quality and be more reliable than Bluetooth connections. My main purpose is to listen to music, so I am not too keen on the small Google Home minis.

So far I've only got a Google Home and a Chromecast Audio connected to my good old stereo HiFi. I've ordered two of these JBL Link 10s though - hope they'll be good additions. I subscribe to Google Play Music by the way, which suits this set up nicely.
I've just picked one of these up, powered it on and none of the buttons are responsive. I've tried everything, including the pin sized reset button. Voice activation and casting work fine, speaker is decent although not as bassy as my charge 2. Will swap it for another which will hopefully solve the problem.

Mine works. Only tried the volume +/- and power so far and prob won't ever press the rest. Sound is as expected - not great, but not bad (that cheap xiaomi speaker posted recently is far better but not as loud) but as said above, a portable Google home is a win from me!

Thanks for confirming. Will be swapping mine today so fingers crossed for some functioning buttons.
Swapped. New one working
I picked mine up yesterday, very impressed. I made a vid review if anybody is interested

I was so looking forward to this and now, so disapointed. It just won't set up on either Android or iOS.

It should just set up through android using the Google home app and your wifi. If it doesn't I'd suggest there is an issue with it and it's needs to be exchanged.
Unfortunately this is the exchanged unit. It won't connect to my google account and complete the set up process. With both I've tried different WiFi networks and different OS. Just my luck I suppose!

I had a little trouble with mine, it was because my WiFi is split into 2 different options 2.4 and 5 GHz, my phone was on one and I was trying to use the other so couldn't find, I doubt it is that but trying to help

That's worth looking into, thanks. How would I find out if that was my issue?

When you choose which WiFi to connect to at home there will be 2 with the same name, only, one of them will have a -5 after it. They will both have the same network key or password though.

Good luck.
