good deal but out of stock

i can get to the payment page and its still in stock, i bought it 3 weeks ago at £299 from costco and thought that was a goo deal, it is very good, much better than budget models

Many thanks for the heads up - membership and soundbar bought. Fingers crossed I won't get any teething issues using arc with my Panny plasma as it seems the JBL can randomly drop out.

Any idea when this deal runs out?

Ordered.... cost £262.49 due to a 5% surcharge for not being a member.... this cheapest price if you have never used them before

Tried getting richersounds to price match, but they refused even though their warehouse / company had 57+ instock. They could get it before I mentioned the price match, but then changed it to we possibly wont be able to get it instock...

Ordered and already delivered!!
Best price by miles!!

You was lucky, did you have to argue their price promise for it?. Preston richersound wouldn't commit to pricematching.

i rang all my local stores manchester stockport prestwich and all refused, so i rang the number on their site option 1 and he went online while i was on the phone quoted me £263 with the costco online option, then knocked a fiver off no aggro all done in mins happy days

Mine eventually arrived. Is fantastic re:sound and looks very smart.

Only issues I have is that it does not power on when the TV starts up (Panasonic GT30) via ARC HDMI. I read somewhere that this is down to power regulations so looks like a universal Logitech remote may be the only answer. Can't get any codes for Sky+ remote volume to work with it either. It does power off fine with TV going off though.

No lip sync issues either as I gather it can have with certain TV sets. And yes the remote is very cheap looking and small - there aren't too many options to tweak the sound which is no bad thing but might upset some folk.

So far though I am very happy with the sound it produces - bluetooth was a doddle to pair too. Would definitely recommend for the price.

PS - It also doesn't like Sky+ receiver passing through a dolby hdmi signal - not sure why?

Hope this helps.

looks good
coming from a 5.1 setup, i was a little underwhelmed at first but i expected that, though its grown on me massively
sound is very good for tv and movies much better that you would get from your tv speakers though not quite 5.1 class (but thats apples and oranges really)
music is excellent, I've paired my tablet up via Bluetooth, and i love it. much better than my old 5.1 setup, more hifi like... very happy

issues for me are...

front grill on the sound bar is a grey and silver, looks good, but does stand out against a piano black tv
sub gets a little boomy and overwhelming, i find myself adjusting the volume / crossover on the sub to get the right mix (that could be me being a bit a.nal though lol missus doesn't hear it)
remote is smaller than a credit card and has been lost several times in 2 weeks! kids fault (_;)
no bluetooth input button on the remote, and has to be manually selected on the soundbar.... why jbl why?
bluetooth is not secure, so any device can connect and use your speeaker if it is left unused in bluetooth mode. pesky neigbour could give you a fright in the night lol
samsung allshare cast dongle (firmware ME29) wont connect through it, might be a samsung issue!
awkward hdmi input location if using on a tv unit.. cables need to bend sharply after connecting

very good sound bar overall

Great review thanks I can't believe there's no bt button on the remote who thought of that !!
I just sold my onkyo 5.1 as fed up of wires everywhere ,and bought the cheap £75 xenta soundbar even that has a bt button on the remote but the base is hard work to get right but for the money you can't grumble it will be interesting to compare the jbl when it arrives this morning

its the only thing not covered by the remote oO, i dont even think it could be used with a one for all remote type remote.

i got rid of my 5.1 because of the wires and for the money i really like it and find its a good replacement, especially for music. though how good it sounds is ppurely subjective.

one other grip is the downward vertical positioning of the hdmi inputs, especially if the hard plastic part of the connector is long as the cable needs to bend sharply if using on a tv unit. though the feet can be adjusted for more clearance... but you will see when you connect yours up

Djw1 you understated this things performance it's amazing my house is shaking watching iron man it's awesome ,I can't believe its a soundbar the sub is phenomenal I would love to hear the sonus playbar see how that performs against this mind you that is £600 this is £250 I'm not missing my onkyo one bit , as you can tell im impressed worth every penny

I believe this deal may be expired as Costco are now advertising it at £299.
Still a brilliant price.
Thankyou to those that submitted reviews as I haven't connected it as I purchased it as a Christmas gift.

I have a 40 Philips tv and this is supposed to be used on tv's between 46-55 inches will it still work well with my tv or should I consider something else instead ? . It is also mentioned on here that the remote feels rather cheap can I buy another remote that feels more robust.and better quality elsewhere ? If so links would be great thanks

it will work fine with your tv though the sound bar is 109cm long, so likely to be wider than your tv. Whether that bothers you or not!

The remote is fine for what it does, though mine keeps getting lost.

I replaced my Pioneer Amp and speakers with this JBL soundbar. I have been very pleased with it and the sound is amazing although limited spec and cheap looking remote. Not sure if you could compair it to the Sonos as that doesn't come with a subwoofer which is another £600. So does a Sonos system pack a better punch at £1,200. I doubt it is worth the extra money as the JBL system is excellent for the money.

back at £249....

Still in stock

Tempted at this. Currently selling 5.1 on that auction site due to wires

For anyone that purchased this soundbar,

I purchased costco and it got delivered yesterday. When I was trying to go to sleep however last night, i heard an intermitten buzzing. 4 secs quiet, 4 secs of static / buzzing noise.. It's not really loud but really annoying. I then realised it was coming from the amp which at the time had an orange light at the back (presume this is on standby like the bar). Only way I could get it to stop was to pull the power completely.

Anyone else got this or dud unit?

my tv speakers pop and crackle due to the amp, but i just mute the tv speakers as they are not needed... i thought my amp was defective at first but figured it out X)

hmm sound seems to be coming from amp and not TV, please this is one TV is in standby and so is bar / amp. It all seems to work fine once on. Just the annoying intermittent sound when everyone is in standby.

Will check it out over next few days as I'm off work and see if it improves. Thanks for the reply mate.

Muted TV & turned tv speakers off and same problem. Will email JBL and Costco and see if they get back to me.
