great price.. have some heat
The guy was putting the price tags pout while I was down there. Maybe just over an hour ago.
Great deal if you find them in stock, but don't bother to click and collect even if they drop to £5 online, because they will cancel your order and tell you there was a 'stock error'

I've turned up at the store and told them there was 18 of what I was …I've turned up at the store and told them there was 18 of what I was looking for in stock and was told don't believe the online stock

You would assume that the online stock figure for each store is taken from the store computer system....I wonder if B&Q know how much stock they have, what it's value is and more importantly whether they make any money? If they do I would be surprised. How much longer will they be around?

Their system is pretty standard, stock gets registered when it goes in the back door and then gets counted down as it go through the till. When it gets to a certain level the system reorders. Problem is if the items get nicked, mislaid or put in the wrong place then the system hasnt seen them go through the till and so thinks it still has some. The only way to clear it up is to do a complete stock check on the store which costs £1000's in man hours to do.

The other issue is that for items which appear on here , if they get reserved on click and collect then by the time the person in store has got the reservation and found the item to go looking for it, you'll find a couple of people have wandered in the store and cleared them out.

I wouldnt trust any click and collect service where you can get to the same stock just by going in the store and picking it up as well. Somewhere like argos is fine as you have to go and select it in store, but the only way click and collect would ever work for any store like B&Q would be for slow selling items.
On the subject of stock, my wife and I went to homebase Whitchurch, Salop at the weekend. They showed stock of a quantity of 19 meant to be in the pick face. It seams the outside contracted audit companies they use to do auditts and stock checks make many mistakes from what we were told.
B&Q is a joke shop
