JCB Impact driver (body only) £29.99. toolstop.co.uk/jcb…ly/

I’ve ordered one for occasional DIY use, it should arrive this week.

I also ordered a battery & charger from same website:

18v 2Ah Li-ion battery £11.99 toolstop.co.uk/jcb…ry/

18v 5Ah Li-ion battery £29.99 toolstop.co.uk/jcb…ah/

18v fast charger £14.99 toolstop.co.uk/jcb…er/

I paid total £61.97 for impact driver, 2Ah battery & charger. Seems to be the cheapest impact driver I could find - I’ve been on the look out for one for a while.

They also sell a JCB drill (body only) for the same price of £29.99 toolstop.co.uk/jcb…ly/

p&p is £5

This is an impact driver not a drill. They sell a drill in the same range for £29.99

Hugely embarrassing but what is the difference?
Well I only discovered recently, which is why I have been using a drill up until now.

A drill primarily drills holes. It can usually also be used as a screwdriver but an impact driver drives in screws much better. So for example if you were drilling long screws into a piece of hardwood it would be much easier to do with an impact driver than a drill. Also an impact driver won’t drill holes in the way that a drill does.

Impact driver uses sockets for removing nuts/bolts, drill has a chuck you use with drill bits

I think that’s an impact wrench

this explains what these things do better than I can...

Decent kit, I have the drill, multi tool and work light from this range. I’ll only ever use it for light DIY, but it’s a steal at this price.
How does it compare with Makita driver. Are these reliable. I had a combi drill from their old range and wasn't very impressed. Have things changed with this new range. Very tempted to give this a try but would like to hear experience of people who have used it.

That's an impact wrench, an impact driver is for driving screws, the usually have 3x - 4x more torque than a drill and makes it effortless.

If you screw a lot of stuff in fairly deeper wood an impact driver is a lot better option.

This JCB one would be sufficient for basic DIY jobs but wouldn't hedge my bets on it lasting or of being quality.
Got the 20v one of these and use it mainly to get small nuts off cars bikes.Handy but will not do heavy stuff like wheel nuts as it's a driver as said. Been good for screws in out of wood mind. Had it few years now and barely needs a charge ,but also not constantly used daily.
I do want a cheap impact wrench, but unsure of the ones on Ebay with unheard of brands.
Seems mega cheap next to the prices on the JCB website £84 on ITS for the same model. Seems too good to be true.

Can’t make my mind up. Read very differing reviews. 😬
These drills are decent. I had the impact driver and combi drill set (brushed) and I built a deck with them and done some other DIY stuff. They feel decent quality and had no issues with the tasks I used them for.

Ultimately I sold them on so I could go to a one battery system (ryobi) for power and garden tools.

Would highly recommend at this price.
Can I use 20v JCB battery in this as I already have them from my JCB combi drill?

I didn't in the end, only reason being I don't need one.
5ah battery oos
Do these work with the Worx/positec batteries? Anyone know?
1x Brushless Combi Drill
1x Brushless Impact Driver
1x 18V Rapid charger
2x 2ah 18v battery
1x Kit bag
1x 55 piece drill piece set

for £120 delievered. Seems a great deal - especially with a 3 year warrenty.
If the tools are good enough to use on SportPesa Racing Point F1 cars - they are good enough for my DIY plans!

I think so. There's an unnecessarily long video about it here

But reading further it seems there are 18v and 20v versions of JCB tools. I have Worx power share batteries and would like to know for certain if they would fit.

Why not email the company directly, with a photo of your Worx battery and ask them to confirm if they would work or not?
Cheers ordered
