These designer black brogues from Jeff Banks are made from luxurious leather with a pointed toe and lace up fastenings.

I have seen these in-store and are a very classy looking shoe, sizes 6-12 available.

my mistake, yes you get free delivery over £30, description edited.

I have 2 pairs. There very Good shoes.

Rubbish quality and bad fit and lousy grip.. Comfy though if they fit

Awful customer service

Bought two pairs and one was smaller than the other despite being identical. One pair lasted 7 months and according to their staff that's normal. Sent away 2 months ago for testing and heard zilch

Got a refund on the second pair that were oddly small

Should just get Church's, the main caveat being they cost 10x the price of these.

Lining: leather, man made materials, not very good for those who have sweaty feet. man made martial means basically plastic.

it actually says

Upper: leather
Lining: leather, man made materials
Stitch detail
Punched trims
Four pairs of eyelets

you will not get better quality that that for 38 quid!

36 quid even (blimming predictive text)

Brogues are the shoes with loads of little holes in, the are just leather shoes.

Not blaming you by the way, you'd think Debenhams would know better.

I would never buy a pair of jeff banks shoes again, the last pair i purchased (In Jan) the sole was made of a soft rubber which picked up every stone on the path/road. They have worn down in the space of 2 months, total and utter rubbish...

Husband has a pair of these shoes. Good quality and comfy. Excellent price!

Don't forget TCB.

you can't have tcb or quidco with the voucher code, one or the other I'm afraid

Oh ****

Oh well, I tried it.

Even at £36 these are really poor quality.

I have a pair of Loakes, a pair of Grensons and a pair of M&S emergency shoes. The Loakes and Grensons cost £70 and £80 from TK Maxx and Urban Outfitters respectively, the M&S were £59. I would have paid double for the Loakes & Grenson and wouldn't pay half again for the M&S ones - the quality difference is at least 5x. Good shoes will last you a lifetime - I wore my Grensons three winters now through snow and ice on some days and they barely look a year old, the M&S ones have been worn to three black tie dinners and already show signs of wear and tear.

It's a false economy - sadly whilst this looks like a good saving at half price, I doubt they are any better than any high street shoe at exactly the same price.

I had a pair of these at £80 and whilst the quality isn't Alfred Sargent, it is adequate for day to day trudging, so at 36 quid, cheap.

I have just received the 1.81 from TCB. As well as the 4 discount, so the two do work.

Hi, can I ask - the Loakes/Grensons - do you always buy leather soled versions or does it matter when getting re-soled?

Leather is best for resole but a disaster in the wet. Like walking on slicks.

£80 for a pair of Grenson is a damm good price.

The £80 grensons were on offer at UO on Oxford Street a few years ago, Goodyear welted soles that still look like new. The loakes were from TK Maxx in Liverpool, again Goodyear welted and again link new. I've seen shoes of that ilk in there before so it's not a one off - always worth a little look.

I do have a leather soled pair of brogues by John White - £30 from TK Maxx, again a bargain - clearly not of the quality of the other two but still more than adequate as daily beaters. They are still hand made and still hail from shoetopia (Northamptonshire) and are a sizeable step up from shoes like these.

Church's last 10 times as long though.
A relative paid about £320 for a pair 10 years ago and they're still going strong.

Yes and when they do wear, you can send them in for a service at a reasonable cost to refurbish.

My JBs arrived. Great value!
