Yes - Bike repairs direct recommended it to my friend recently to get some rust of her chrome bike handlebars.

Have you tried coca cola and baking foil? I know that may sound odd if you've not heard of it before but it's great for getting rust off chrome. Just in case you don't think it works...

Thanks for your advice. I'll certainly give it a go. Stupidly left my folding bike outside work for a couple of months, thinking it was sheltered but it wasn't. Now it looks ruined but hoping it's rescueable. Got a bit of time off in Nov so will see what I can do. I'm not very practical but I'll do my best.

I can assure you it will be rescueable with a bit of effort and perhaps a spot of googling for tips if you're not sure how to go about things. Best of luck!
