Bought these last night, having for dinner tonight with salmon and corn on the cob..yummm..:)

Just going to get some i love these and good price! thank you.

Love summer, thats when all the half price fruit and veg comes, vine rippend toms for 1.00 and these jersey royals.

My local had them on clearance for .20p a bag, and they were amazing

hope these are better than the crap we got last year

Has anyone actually had Jersey Royals that taste good ? I find they've been bland for years now but still keep trying. Bought some last week, won't be buying anymore this year.

the ones you actually get from Jersey are usually really tasty - we had nice tesco ones and nice m&s ones last year - if you find a good farmer (on the front of the bag) - then stick with him !

I totally agree with you. They used to have an
amazing taste and now they are so ordinary.

Decent pruta

I think the EU had a lot to do with the change in quality of JR spuds. Didn't they disapprove of the kidney shape at some stage? If the EU ever finds fruit and veg with taste it bans them, so we end up burying quality British stuff in big holes in the ground, and are forced to eat bland French stuff.

Did you include the additional image in case no one knew what a potato looked like?

bought some last weekend at tesco they were bogoff then at £1.99, tasteless!!!!!!

Years ago these were really special compared to the old potatoes that were available at the time, but with the introduction of all year new potatoes like your Charlottes, these seem to have become a bit ordinary.

We had some of these last night and they we delicious. I know it's frowned upon but I find they taste better if they've been peeled. I thought the skin gave the potatoes a bitter taste on the last lot we bought.

Re: Jersey Royals and a bitter taste. In my experience, the skin turns bitter if you have kept the Jerseys for more than a few days. It seems to be what they do this when they are 'stale' - but oddly enough, while I can taste it immediately, my wife can't at all. It is easily remedied by scrapping the skins off, preferably before they are cooked, but you can do it even after and they will salvage pretty well - the flesh is perfectly good for ages after the skin goes.
