this telescope is to see the other moon lol

I think binda lives opposite Pete burns

How good is this ?

Could I see the moon very clear?

I live on a massive hill in the country and get some nice cold clear nights and would love to get one.

What about other planets ? Could I see saturn ect..

I have always wanted to get one and use it in the loft and skylight. I have no idea if I could set it up though?

Good deal for Cardiff. Shame it's not online deal. Voted hot hot hot !!!

Is it better than aldi one?

Voted cold as its Jessops and they screwed customers over last year with gift vouchers.

Yeah spy on your hot neighbors

phoned store they have more than 10

Useful for preparing to hide from family members and other unwanted guests approaching the house. I have a rather long drive.

I've not tried it myself, but I understand that you can't see much this way: as the house is hot compared to the outside air, air currents will distort the image, like a desert mirage or the hot air above a candle/fire.

I'm pretty sure that even with this huge price reduction, many of the knowledgable astro people would suggest a pair of binoculars or a smaller telescope from a more reputable brand: at low price points, the Skywatcher Heritage series are probably the ones to look out for. The Jessops scopes are really not reputable. For starters, they're advertising up to 400x magnification for the telescope pictured, which is waaaaay past useable given the theoretical resolution of a telescope of that size, and the turbulence in UK skies. Even 200x would be pushing it on a much more expensive telescope in good conditions. That should be a warning sign.

Was looking at getting a Skywatcher Mercury 705, bare in mind my knowledge of this is 1 hour since i seen this thread.

If you're getting into astronomy for the first time. It's highly recommended that you start off with a pair of binoculars. You can still see things like Jupiter's moons, the faint blob of the Orion Nebula and Andromeda Galaxy, and a decent view of the moon (this is all things I've seen with my pair). Binoculars make it easier to navigate around the sky to find what you want to look at. Plus, because they're cheaper than a decent telescope, if you find the hobby isn't for you then you haven't plunged too much money into it.

just the other day i looked at jupiter and saw some banding and moons, great orion nebula (you can see blue clouding), the moon, plaedies (if thats how you spell it) to name a few. this has an equatorial mount by the looks of it so it will be a lot more stable and easy to use than mine.
