Was in Fopp (Cambridge) today and saw the 'Original Album Series' box set of 5 albums for £12.

Includes: Psychocandy, Darklands, Automatic, Honey's Dead and Stoned and Dethroned.

There's not sleeve notes and so on but £12 for all of these seems brilliant. (£15 on amazon)

what a great deal.. I remember paying this much just for the "Automatic" CD over 20 years ago ... does anyone know if they are the digitally remastered versions

Stunning bargain. Psychocandy is so good that last time i listened to it in the car i ended up crashing!

Just wish my nearest Fopp store in Nottingham wasn't such a PITA to get to :-(

I don't know for sure but don't think it is the remastered versions. To be honest I think the original ones sound better anyway... they sound more like the mary chain to me!

oh i don't know, the overdriven distortion is so much clearer on the remastered versions , lol

I'm not THAT familiar with most of JAMC's output but I LOVED the song "Cracking Up". I heard it by "default" as it came with a free CD attached to a copy of the Big Issue. Great song

one of the best things to come out of the 80s imho..
still think it's better to spend your money on supporting current bands though!

never heard of FOPP though

very fitting if it were to "the living end"

i dug out "darklands" a couple of weeks back for the first time in a couple of years, and it remains extraordinary....

cracking deal.

Proto Indy...

If there is such a thing...

Great band....

Had the Psychocandy LP (vinyl - remember that stuff) and lent it to a very attractive young lady whose dog ravaged the cover, she had the brass neck to smile when she gave it back to me
