Thanks for posting thegreat, some good deals on there

Good Post, Thegreat.

Not from London, though!
Duh!

Cheers
Just booked flights from Newcastle to Amsterdam in May for £105, for 2 adults.
Saved me £80 on the cheapest flights I could find.

For what it's worth, Ryanair, Easyjet, AerLingus, BMI all tend to have £0.01 fares from time to time. It's completely meaningless as they all throw in a random set of taxes and a random "Passenger Service Charge". However, I've managed to fly my parents from Dublin to London and back again for about 70 quid mid-february. Remember, there's no penalty for just booking each way seperately anymore.

Hi guys

Great post. cheap flights but what always put me off is finding accommodation in europe myself i.e. not booked as a package. I'm not talking hostels but hotels. Is there one main site where you can compare quality, price etc and book them online as this always puts me off when I see a good price flight. Sorry if this sounds stupid and there is a website that everyone knows about...

Thanks

Laterooms? Expedia?

Last year we flew from bournemouth booking direct with Thompsonfly to Amsterdam and booked the hotel through Expedia and paid a total of £120 each for 3 nights b and b and early flights out and a late flight back making almost 4 days over there. I have found that by playing with days and flight times the fares can vary drastically. Sometimes the flights that cost more actually work out cheaper when the taxes are added - dont ask me how but thats happened twice now. I can recommend the hotel if you wish to check it out (Only a tram ride from the centre and near the Heineken Brewery) also never had any problems with Expedia hotels (although we didnt like the hotel that i got with lastminute.com in london)

I have used venere.com for accommodation bookings in europe and found the site to be quite good.it gives you pictures of the hotels, map locations within the city, price of accommodation and lists reviews from people who have stayed there...this then gives the hotels a rating.

I booked some budget accommodation in Amsterdam and the reviews and photos were all on the money. The rest of my party were pleased with what I found for the price, always a worry when you book for others!

If anyone is interested, I just got back from a 4 day trip to Amsterdam with the missus yesterday and stayed in a really nice hotel called the Albus Grand which I would recommend. It's 3*, very clean and spacious. Not sure on price as it was a present, but you can check that out.
Also it is 10 mins walk from everywhere in Amsterdam! It's situated near Rembrandt Square.

Also I recommend Club 11 to anyone that wants a good meal in a top location and a decent price - 3 course for £20. It's by central station and you have to walk past the floating restaurant. It looks a bit daunting from the outside but it is awesome once inside and suitable for families too!

Just my 2p worth! :-D
