These are very good - ironing in half the time.

Good find, cheapest I can find is £84.98 at electricshopping.com (never heard of them) and £94.98 at Robert Dyas. Ordered one as I have been after a steam generator iron for ages. I have bought an iron previously from Morphy Richards Online, it was faulty when it arrived so I phoned them up and they sent a better model as a replacement and told me to bin the faulty one.

You should add that the price includes delivery.

I bought a similar model to this after seeing a deal on HUKD. It is excellent and I couldn't fault the service from Morphy Richards.

good price

great, ordered one as my current standard steam iron leaks from the top whilst ironing and i been saying for a while i must get a new one.
voted hot.

Great price. Bought one.

£140 in ]Argos! £105 at Amazon.

CJ

EDIT: Scores 67% at Which? 5* Durability but only 3* Performance. (Top Iron scored 87% - Tefal FV5260 Aquaspeed Ultracord)

fab still have the last generator deal book marked, must actually buy this one!.

HOT HOT HOT
I bought one of these last time round for the wife and she says the iron nearly does the iroining on its own!!

Anyone comment on how this compares to this

Heard a lot of good things about these presses, but the ops post is a great price for a good named product. I was thinking more of anyone with practical experience.

Voted Hot! Missus just bought a normal steam iron in Argos yesterday for £40. It's going back as we have now ordered one of these. Bargain!

My sister had the aqua blue model of this iron. i really liked the feel and appearance of it, its much less cheap plasticky looking than my Russel Hobbs generator, and the iron is weightier and more comfortable in my hand. It looks quality. The water reservoir needed topped up quite a lot when I did a huge load of ironing, and the hole to pour the water in, is tiny, you can see it on the photo there, the little lip sticking out at the front. I ended up filling up a two litre water bottle and using it to top up the water, it was the simplest way. The generator part is pretty compact, and sat comfortably on the iron rest of the board, unlike my Russel Hobbs which teeters slightly even on my generator sized board. The temperature settings were good, the hottest one being hot enough for anything, unlike some irons. One of the items I ironed was a white coat that seemed to be made of something akin to canvas! The iron steamed right through it, no problem, and I was told that the launderette had refused to launder it, and the dry cleaners hadnt done as good a job, so... good work Morphy Richards iron!

I have to say here, that after whizzing through about a month's ironing on her Morphy Richards, the iron seemed fine, but the next time I went to use it, it was dead, wouldn't switch on at all. I don't know if this was a fault with her iron, or if the model doesn't like being used for several hours at a time.

I've only used three generator irons, and between this, my Russel Hobbs and a friend's old Tefal generator, I liked the Tefal one best.

Hope this is of some use!

thanks slim (or is that katy ), a nice informative reply and review, just need one on the press and I can get my credit card out

ordered one-heat & rep added thanks op

just gotta find an ironing board now (my current one stands up wonky lol) anyone have any ideas please?

Bought similar generator from Morphy Richards when shown on HUKD recently. Very pleased with it. Feels quite heavy in the hand to start with, but is actually a pleasure to use (well, as pleasurable as ironing can be!) Tank is easy to fill (on my model) and lasts quite a while, but of course, that is dependent on how much ironing there is!!! DOH!!!

It arrived very quickly from MR, as did the anti-scale filters I bought with it; neither had a delivery charge, which was a bonus.

Great deal, voted hot!

I love the ironing board I bought some months back, in the Argos sale. It has been replaced by this model. argos.co.uk/sta…htm It has a very large ironing surface which means you spend much less time moving items around. It has a large generator holder on the end which will comfortably hold the morphy richards generator. It's a very sturdy and heavy board. If you don't mind your board being heavy, then I can recommend this one, best one I've had. The only difference between this one and mine seems to be the pattern on the cover. I like to iron sitting down (in my Viking bargain leather chair ) and the height of the board adjusts perfectly.

I got my board for under £20, but if I had to replace it, Id happily pay more.

Thanks, my mum was after a new one of these, she's very happy. :-)

I missed out last time they had these on offer so I bought one.

Voted hot. Missed out on the last offer, but ordered this time.

I think the last time this was on offer it was pink anyway. Blue's a lot less "girlie".

Yes, I'm colour blind.

I've just reserved this at Argos in Bolton - don't know about stock anywhere else though:

Half-Price - £17.49.

Looks enormous....it's only because of this thread I realise why it takes me so long to do any ironing - my board is too small.
