These membranes vary dramatically in quality - and price. Buy an inadequate one and you're not only wasting your money - you're also wasting the time you'll spend digging it up and replacing it when it's failed. I can recommend wholeheartedly the fabrics sold by these guys: https://www.keithsingletonhorticulture.com/landscaping/weed-suppressant-fabric https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/cumbriagardensandpetsdirect/Woven-ground-cover/_i.html?_storecat=2213825 (ebay - same firm) No connection, obviously, but they're a trustworthy firm, they know what they're talking about, and they sell good quality hardwearing UV resistant fabric at fair prices. Talk to them first, though, before deciding what's best. Ours has been down for more than 10 years, without any problem at all - just cut into it where you want plants to grow through it.
I got this for under gravel for area with very low traffic and the weeds still come through easily plus tears appear without much persuasion. I wouldn't bother for drive purposes. Light garden use maybe at a push.
Cheaper on ebay
This is one of those random deals that has popped up just at the right time - thanks OP (y) 🏻
