Adapters are about £5 off eBay but shame this isn't NVME.

Doesn't make any real world difference - my NVMe drive is rated at ~2200 read and 1250 write but my PC doesn't actually run any faster than when I was booting off a SATA3 SSD.

That being said, they're still nice to have - no power or data cables to mess with - and I might grab this anyway, because my motherboard's second m.2 slot supports m.2 SATA.

I'd like to see a deal on the entry level 13 Macbook pro with OLED touch bar, which should is about £1750 on Apple.

Buying at that price and maybe getting £300 for selling it in 5 years works out effectively a £25 a month rental which is too much. A deal at around £1300 would be more like £15 a month which is better.

That looks a nice machine, and I'm sure more that suitable for the majority of people but to say it is similar hardware is stretching things just a bit too far. Dual core CPU vs Quad core, inferior screen in terms of resolution, colour accuracy and gamut, much slower SSD, no Thunderbolt ports, no dedicated graphics processor, less battery life, inferior wi-fi etc.

As per official Apple support website: “Only Apple makes the USB-C to Lightning Cable. There are no “Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad” USB-C to Lightning cables.”

This means that unlike other cables which are Made For Phone certified (like normal lightning cables made by Belkin, Anker, etc) this specific cable doesn’t have an official third party spec yet. This means that the cables that exist, reverse engineer this cable without official support. Considering that this cable allows accelerated USB-C charging profiles for latest iPhones and iPads, it’s important to get the certified one.

Very good price and great service. Ordered two recently with very quick delivery. This price for Silver or Gold.

The Silver 128gb has gone up in price now, the Gold 128 gb is still available at £358.80. I ordered the Silver and it was delivered the next day, brand new and sealed, not a refurb, for £358.80 including VAT and delivery. Apple are selling refurbs for £409.00. I would really recommend this company!

Apple refurb still appears to be cheaper, Jigsaw24 have a massive font for price excluding VAT. Inc. VAT price below in tiny grey!

I too think this deal should be hotter. I have been looking for an iPad Mini 128Gb and have gone for this deal. Its about £70.00 pounds cheaper than the next best price I can find. I am sure there is probably an iPad Mini 4 coming soon but this deal is still about the cheapest new iPad Mini 3 128Gb available in the UK so surely it is hot?

Heat for the price. I got one from John Lewis a couple of weeks ago for 379.00.

However I think it's going to have to go back - the hard drive was very slow so I added an SSD via USB 3 and installed the OS there. Wishful thinking

Ordered this and it arrived today. Getting it to replace my 2012 i5 mini as I do a lot of video conversion and run it as a plex server.

I didn't 'really' need to upgrade to an i7 mini, but with Apple gimping the 2014 model I think these are going to be well sort after.

To the OP, I think the way you worded your comment in the DABS deal is the reason for some of the cold votes. Nevertheless I've voted hot as it is the cheapest available deal for an instock 2012 i7 Mac mini.

I had a 2012 i5 mac mini and have a 2012 imac i7...converting video was about half the time on the i7 but in general day to day usage (including basic games like football manager) I noticed no difference...mainly as both (mac minis) have HD4000 and Mac OS works fine on 4GB...had 8GB in both and again no noticeable difference....if your a power user you will defo notice the i7 increase for video editing etc though.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and sorry for my vague question! I meant to say that the main thing it will be doing is running Plex Media Server. It will only ever be encoding for 1 client. That said, your mentioning video editing makes me think that this is something I may want to do in the future. Thanks for the great comparison, much appreciated.

Stupid thing to say, really. You could say that about any product on this site. But then you've damned yourself to immaturity by using 'crapple' so I guess there's no point using logic.

The only people who tend to make fun of technology they don't own is those who don't feel secure in the purchases they've made themselves. There is no right and wrong choice, merely a personal preference to an OS and ecostructure that Apple, Google and Microsoft all push.

Be aware.... If you leave the batteries in these things for a while, they … Be aware.... If you leave the batteries in these things for a while, they can corrode and burst. The acid fuses the battery to the aluminium casing and is a right b'stard to try and repair, if at all. The battery cap cannot be undone (I've twisted a coin trying). It can sometimes be solved by removing the bluetooth module and pouring baking soda solution into the batt compartment, but a lot of folks have had the keyboard ruined by this.

Two questions....

1) Isn't that the case for all battery devices?

2) Have you had this happen? If so, how did you fix it? (I kinda NEED to know! haha)
