Just thought I'd update. I received my iPad from eglobalcentral today after ordering last Friday. Brand new in a sealed box. Comes with a non U.K. Plug but an adapter is supplied.

TM1233

Why not just go for one of these? I've taken the plunge and ordered one last Friday following some positive comments from people on here who have ordered one. Will update on how it goes! eglobalcentraluk.com/apple-ipad-9.7-2017-32gb-wifi-with-premium-folding-case-black-space-grey.html

How does this compare to the current iPad?

mooseepoo

Rumours that new iPads are due to be laucnhed this month. Looking at a lower-cost iPad for Student use as well as updates across the lines. I've still got my iPad Air 2 after purchasing a 2017 iPad model and sending it back due to the hollow-plastic-y screen.

Hmmm, then something must be wrong with my 1st Gen iPad Air, says "Accessory not supported" whenever I try plugging my earphones in via Lightning Port.

bluep

my iPad (old iPad mini 2) transmits audio through the lightning jack but won’t take any of the controls (stop/play/ffwd etc)

Paul534

That’s incorrect.

DanyH

Won't work with iPads, they're not wired to transmit audio through lightning port.

ram is soldered, i swapped the faulty sd6pq4m-128g-1021 for a samsung 250GB one, It was compatible as I was hoping.

SlightlyFoxed

Doesn't make any real world difference - my NVMe drive is rated at ~2200 read and 1250 write but my PC doesn't actually run any faster than when I was booting off a SATA3 SSD. That being said, they're still nice to have - no power or data cables to mess with - and I might grab this anyway, because my motherboard's second m.2 slot supports m.2 SATA.

Schmutz

and you get a laptop Operating system which is much better than windows and a trackpad that no windows trackpad comes NEAR to matching. - running OSX on a windows laptop is pants by the way. Disclaimer #1 *sent from my Dell XPS 13* (the flagship windows laptop which I thought I bought as an "upgrade" to a macbook pro) just mentioning in case you thought I was just a blind apple fan. I tried both and Macbooks are in another league. Disclaimer #2 *sent by a Windows 10 desktop user* just mentioning to demonstrate I am very conversant with both OS! I just far far prefer OSX on a portable.

malachi

Only bottleneck would be your motherboard depending on port speed.

Abhi5hek

Super! I assume there wouldn't be any bottleneck if I use this adapter?

You'll look the part in Starbucks! You'd think they're employed by them as there's one in every shop.

I'd like to see a deal on the entry level 13 Macbook pro with OLED touch bar, which should is about £1750 on Apple. Buying at that price and maybe getting £300 for selling it in 5 years works out effectively a £25 a month rental which is too much. A deal at around £1300 would be more like £15 a month which is better.

colin10086

That looks a nice machine, and I'm sure more that suitable for the majority of people but to say it is similar hardware is stretching things just a bit too far. Dual core CPU vs Quad core, inferior screen in terms of resolution, colour accuracy and gamut, much slower SSD, no Thunderbolt ports, no dedicated graphics processor, less battery life, inferior wi-fi etc.

mcrobbj

https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/asus-zenbook-3-ux390-125-laptop-i716gb512gb-ssd-blue-at-currys-for-79997-2818491 doesnt have thunderbolt but is a grand less for pretty much the same specs. Ive had a macbook pro for work and whilst they are nice machines they arent that much different to a good ultrabook. If your set on a macbook then the price is good. Havent voted either way.

Apple USB-C to Lightning Cable - the only cable that can Fast Charge iPhone 8/X and iPad Pros £14.40 @ Jigsaw24

Thanks op

moonfruit

Digging this up again for everyone: This is a great deal! ONLY Apple manufacture a Made for iPhone USB-C to Lightning cable. This is the ONLY safe cable available to buy that you can use to superfast charge your iPhone 8 or X. If there were third parties making affordable MFI USB-C to Lightning cables then of course I'd buy those in a heartbeat and I'd provide a link to them here; unfortuntely Apple doesn't allow third parties to make these types of cable.

Paul534

As per official Apple support website: “Only Apple makes the USB-C to Lightning Cable. There are no “Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad” USB-C to Lightning cables.” This means that unlike other cables which are Made For Phone certified (like normal lightning cables made by Belkin, Anker, etc) this specific cable doesn’t have an official third party spec yet. This means that the cables that exist, reverse engineer this cable without official support. Considering that this cable allows accelerated USB-C charging profiles for latest iPhones and iPads, it’s important to get the certified one.

Naqvi

What you on about not offered by non apple brands. I have had one for a few months and its non apple and stop feeding false information about non apple cables may damage your iphone. Ridiculous!

The Silver 128gb has gone up in price now, the Gold 128 gb is still available at £358.80. I ordered the Silver and it was delivered the next day, brand new and sealed, not a refurb, for £358.80 including VAT and delivery. Apple are selling refurbs for £409.00. I would really recommend this company!

spacezombibingo

Apple refurb still appears to be cheaper, Jigsaw24 have a massive font for price excluding VAT. Inc. VAT price below in tiny grey!

BuddyBear

I too think this deal should be hotter. I have been looking for an iPad Mini 128Gb and have gone for this deal. Its about £70.00 pounds cheaper than the next best price I can find. I am sure there is probably an iPad Mini 4 coming soon but this deal is still about the cheapest new iPad Mini 3 128Gb available in the UK so surely it is hot?

titchyyyyy

Unknown seller pretty much, only a few reviews online from 2010~ and making returns at Jigsaw24 requires you to pay restocking fees of at least 10-50% depending on what item it is, plus you have to pay for tracked/signed for delivery back to them. "The item(s) returned must be as new and in the original packaging, and a re-stocking fee of 10-50%, depending on the condition of the returned items, is applicable."

Heat for the price. I got one from John Lewis a couple of weeks ago for 379.00. However I think it's going to have to go back - the hard drive was very slow so I added an SSD via USB 3 and installed the OS there. Now it's far better BUT my bluetooth keyboard and mouse keep disconnecting and stuttering. I've had a look online and it seems to be a known issue for which there is no real fix. I'm amazed. The 2014 version may have better shielding but no memory expansion so it looks like I'm out of the Mac Mini game.

TRIXXYDIXXY

Ordered this and it arrived today. Getting it to replace my 2012 i5 mini as I do a lot of video conversion and run it as a plex server. I didn't 'really' need to upgrade to an i7 mini, but with Apple gimping the 2014 model I think these are going to be well sort after. To the OP, I think the way you worded your comment in the DABS deal is the reason for some of the cold votes. Nevertheless I've voted hot as it is the cheapest available deal for an instock 2012 i7 Mac mini.

WBRacing

Thank you for taking the time to reply and sorry for my vague question! I meant to say that the main thing it will be doing is running Plex Media Server. It will only ever be encoding for 1 client. That said, your mentioning video editing makes me think that this is something I may want to do in the future. Thanks for the great comparison, much appreciated.

Stupid thing to say, really. You could say that about any product on this site. But then you've damned yourself to immaturity by using 'crapple' so I guess there's no point using logic. The only people who tend to make fun of technology they don't own is those who don't feel secure in the purchases they've made themselves. There is no right and wrong choice, merely a personal preference to an OS and ecostructure that Apple, Google and Microsoft all push.

floppydesk

bargain if you like crapple products, otherwise its not a deal.
