If you're bored with regular Jim Beam or Jack Daniel's, or just fancy trying something a little different, you could do a lot worse than this rye whiskey. At 45% ABV it's a little stronger than the two afore mentioned bourbons, and has a slightly more full-bodied and spicier taste, and it definitely hits the spot for me!

To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with the Double Oak, as I think Jim Beam's Devil's Cut and this rye version are both better than it. Different strokes/taste buds and all that!

33374268-zFOg7.jpgThe description on Amazon states 45%, as does my own physical bottle (see attached photo). The original photo was taken from Amazon itself, so they're using the wrong one.

If I click on the link the image shows 40% and so does the description.

Didn't see that, the actual Amazon description says "Alcohol Content 40 % Vol" But I will take your word that Amazon have got it wrong.

Scrolling further down, it does also say 80 proof, which is 40% ABV. That information is incorrect though. As shown in my previous "front of bottle" photo, and the attached "side of bottle", it's 90 proof/45% ABV. The bottle I have was purchased from Amazon on 24th Jan, and from the link provided, as shown in the other attached photo.

No problem! It's definitely 45 %
R u sure ..now ..
The US, 75cl version is usually 45% and the UK, 70cl is 40%. I bought this during their last offer and it was 40%. The bottle pictured above at 45% is 75cl.

The clever prohibition marketing makes me think I will be very old school gangster drinking this. Does anyone else feel this way?
For a bit more kick, try the Cutty Sark Prohibition version at 50% ABV. Available on Amazon for just under £23 shipped, which is the same as this one for those without Prime. A bit slow to deliver, can take 1-3 weeks (can order but not in stock).
Ordered... And it's the 40% version. For me double-oak still rules (though no deals I can see ATM)
