Not the most exciting product but if, like me, you've been plagued with mice and conventional solutions are both unpleasant and fail to solve the problem this must be worth a try while it's half price. Mouse damage has cost me far more than this as well as the unpleasant health risks. For rats and cockroaches too.

There are various 'sonic' gadgets around but this one is simply plugged into any socket in the house and claims to provide an 'invisible force field' throughout the house via the mains wiring. If it works it will be well worth the £9.99 currently being charged in Tesco (was £19.99). Possibly reduced because it's out of season (problems are usually in winter).

Safe for children, dogs and cats.

The fact that Tesco are selling it gives me a little bit of confidence that it isn't 'snake oil'.

Do these work on flying insects too? I would be glad to pay a tenner to keep my house critter-free this summer!

Doesn't say so - just the three pests mentioned in post.

Maybe you need one of those ultra-violet electric grid things like you see in food shops? I'm sure I've seen them for domestic use.

I believe these work as a good deterrent to rodents. When we moved in a few tears ago we discovered mice in the attic, kitchen and garage. So after getting rid of the obvious ones we installed 1 of these in the house and another in the garage. They have never returned

i aways wonder about these on other animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs does anyone know?

Says 'Not suitable for use with the following 5 pets: hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, tarantulas (!) and chinchillas'.

OK with cats and dogs though.

sounds good  bloody neighbours have cockroaches, and getting the odd few coming through :x
any idea over what range (radius (?)) it works?

We got one of these (a JML one), when we had mice last year and it didn't seem to help at all. In fact the horrid little creatures chewed through the floorboards 2 feet away from where it was plugged in! My advice is, save your money and buy more traps.

Says it works inside the walls (presumably where you need it). I believe it works throughout your wiring system up to the meter, so should cover the whole house.

I can't speak for this JML one, but I have a Pest Stop and a Pest Clear Professional and they definately work for us. We moved in to this place and it had been a small holding with animal feed and eggs and other lovely rat food everywhere. We had rats in the loft. When we ripped up the floor boards there were dead rats there, even a corpse underneath the bath. Had the council pest man in every fortnight for years. Then I bought the gadget and they went away. Four years ago we had the builders from hell build us a big extension and soon afterwards realised the rats were back. ( I was in the loft, with my tom cat, when a rat ran past us both...) I went on the internet to look for the instructions because I thought it might be on the wrong setting, at which point I read "must have one per wiring circuit". We now have two circuits since the extension with seperate fuse boxes. I hastly ordered another one from Amazon. Meanwhile I heard a rat in the new bit, so rushed the machine to the nearest socket. Rat ran back to the old building. I moved the machine to a socket in the old bit... and so on until I gave up. Anyway, since we had two installed, no more rats. I've since bought a third one as insurance because I had doubts about our garage, which has it's own little fuse box too.
And I discovered the instructions for the settings are moulded in the plastic in the back of the gadget which is handy for those of us that lose leaflets.
The last one I bought was the cheapest at about £20 ish so if this jml one is as good it's cheap.

speak to your local enviromental health as those horrible little things … speak to your local enviromental health as those horrible little things are classed as vermin too... god i hate them things!

its just under £100 for the council pest control service, next doors landlord said they were sorting it, and have only had the odd few coming through upstairs only, so not keen on having to pay out that much at the moment, I absolutely hate the sight of the damn things though :x there should be a rule making the landlord pay out for treatment in our home!! if only!!

Not looking like this one is going hot, which is a shame when posters reckon they work well. I'm sure for £10 plenty of people would benefit if they knew about it.

anyone know if u can get this kind of thing for birds? shocking problem with swallows and starlings in my shed and tbh they are crapin all over my stuff and want them shifted asap
