I tried this a few years ago and found it be ineffective against ring scratches on the handles. It was a black car so may be better on other colours.

Have since sold the reched beast. Used the meguiars ultimate range in the end.

Might have cost £50 but made knackered old paintwork look as good as new and meant I got the full asking price. Can't say fairer than that.

I valet cars so have tried all sorts. The magic eraser is a good thing to have in your kit. I had a white TT the other week with scuffs all over the body work, little water and light rubbing all gone. Then don't forget to add a bit wax

It's just a more gentile form of wet-sanding really.

Does anyone know if there is any way of removing light windscreen scratches? My wiper rubber came loose and the metal wiper scratched the windsreen. Not a major scratch, but visible.

You'd need a dual action or some kind of polisher. Some good rubbing compound like g3 and mix it with some hand wash with pumice. It'll take a bit of elbow grease but should take the majority of them out if not all!
I'm doing this on an 11 year old Merc tomorrow as the visablity is a joke when looking out.

Thanks for that. Very helpful. I would be nervous about trying it myself for fear of making a mistake. Is there a way of finding someone who is competent I could pay to do it me?
