Or... Get a real job and stop wasting your life on video games

Bit harsh.. anyway, assuming you're at your place of regular employment today, stop skiving and get on with whatever you're paid to do.

Yes

It's not really a helpful comment though - people can have a job and also have activities they enjoy

Okay... I'm dense. It just dawned on me. Sorry
Why the hell would you pay money to come home from the one thing people hate and simulate it

If you’d taken a minute to read the description, it’s obviously a game that makes fun of work. You might as well ask why you’d come home from the office to watch The Office.

Yeah I’m sick of the floating tv/robots at work telling me what to do.
How about give me the games I already bought on the Rift? That’s why I sent the Quest back, I’m not rebuying everything on the same store.

it's not oculus fault, it's up to the devs but I totally agree, I'm conflicted when a game is available to buy on both and end up not getting it on either if it isn't cross buy. I bought thrill of the fight right away because it is cross buy. I have beat saber already from the oculus store but refuse to buy again on quest even thought it's perfect for it. I just make do with using the link cable.
Can you phone in sick?

Oculus could have enforced a mandatory cross-buy policy on their own store so it is their fault.

Yeah. How dare people enjoy themselves in their free time. They should be working every waking moment and never have any fun.

I'd imagine their first priority would be to encourage third parties to come up with as much Quest software as possible to sell the headset, this would do the opposite. It's up to developers to set prices, as it is on every platform.

You can get as many games as you like on a store but if your policies put customers off from making purchases then it's not going to be hugely successful.

I suspect we'll see an all in one Quest 2 that will probably make a separate PCVR HMD entirely pointless so having cross-buy will be essential.

The Quest is effectively that with Link anyway but I suspect there may well be just one product to help simplify it for the customer base.

They could, but then we'd get fewer releases as many smaller companies may deem it not worth the effort.

It's not a simple thing to port PC to Android and there are so many considerations/changes and optimisations needed to make a PC experience on essentially a mobile phone.

I think once companies have dual environments going and can devlop in parallel we'll see more crossbuy games as that will be easier than trying to port something over.

The thing is that it doesn't seem to be an issue as far as sales are concerned. It will only be a small percentage of people who have a Rift already and then get a Quest and don't forget that many of these games were added before the Link was announced PLUS it's still in Beta. So why force small companies to spend loads of money to make their game compatible with Quest and tell them they can't make more money from it?
