What's the difference between this stuff (foam) and memory foam? I can only assume that this isn't as good :?
Was thinking of getting a memory foam mattress topper, but haven't got a clue what the differences between all the different makes are. Can anyone help on this front?

i think memory foam is supposed to remember your body and goes into the perfect position every time you lay on it - or something lol.

I need a new mattress as my old one is getting a bit manky but is otherwise fine. This could put it off a couple of years if it fits on an ikea mattress. Cheers.

I hope John Lewis' stock control system is better than Debenhams' ...

... not certain, but when we looked into new beds, IKEA mattresses were completely different sizes than the standard UK double/queen/king etc. - perhaps because they are measured primarily in cms whereas the UK sizes are five feet, six feet etc. wide

Yes, what gobo says is true - IKEA beds are different sizes to standard UK beds, so you might have some hanging over the edge...

We bought one of these a few weeks ago (King Size) and use it in our caravan to go on top of the caravan's cushions when making up the bed. It is lovely and comfy, evens out the lumps and bumps a treat, and also comes with a washable cover which hasn't shrunk in the wash and has popped back on no problems (it is zipped all the way round)

HTH

Cheers BristolDeal and gobofraggle for the information. I remember that there was something odd with Ikea bed sizes. Maybe i'll just trash the bed and get a proper one in due course instead...

i dont know about the foam ones but i bought a memory foam topper for sons bed as it is a really cheap mattress that was uncomfortable to even sit on. it came folded up and had to leave it flat for a few hours to level out but it feels better than my memory foam mattress and cost me £50!! (b & m) where my mattress was nearer £300 at the time. you really would not believe the difference it makes to a bed. my son now actually sleeps in it rather than tossing and turning all night.

son has a double bed btw

Thanks rosalie!
