On the evidence of two separate pieces of John Lewis refrigeration equipment (a freezer and a fridge-freezer) I really would advise anyone considering buying anything to think again.

Both have been very unreliable within a very short space of time, and we've found reliabilty problems with John Lewis that we've never ever found from any other brand. And I say that as a huge supporter of John Lewis.

Their refrigeration products are made by AEG/Electrolux, but seem to be built down to a price - even the visiting AEG engineer was unimpressed with the quality and said there are problems with them. Which? don't rate them highly for reliability either.

Here's just one example (you'll find others quite easily):…ped

I was told in one of the stores that John Lewis are considering moving to another manufacturer because of the problems, but can't until the current contract runs out.

Until then, I'd strongly advise anyone to avoid the stuff like the plague.
