John Lewis Newcastle Technology End of Year Clearance Event

51
LocalFound 29th Mar
Got this flyer at JL Newcastle today; they are running an end of year clearance event for technology this Friday - Monday (30th March - 2nd April), to sell off all their reduced technology stock.

The salesperson said everything is at least 20% off, and they have lots of iPhones, laptops, tablets, cameras, headphones etc reduced, plus a load of TVs, soundbars, gaming and VR stuff, etc...

Looks like they want to clear out their stock of open box/return/imperfect stock before the end of the financial year, so should be some good deals

Apparently everything comes with the usual JL 2 or 3 guarantee (5 for TVs) so definitely worth having a look around.

Be a load of crap like usual

Why do so many people complain on this site nowadays. If 1 person saves money then it was worth putting on the site. Im starting to come on here less and less due to the negativity.

Not sure I'll make it there tomorrow but if anyone does I'd appreciate it if you could check if they've reduced Fitbit Alta HR and let me know.

I purchased one a few days ago so still within the price guarantee window if they reduce it.

Not if they are selling the "open box" and "slightly imperfect" at a 20% reduction your not, it wont count

Ah hadn't read the description that way. I can still return my full price one for an open box reduced one though, and in fact that's probably easier than price matching anyway.

All the returns in their outlet shop in swindon only ever have a 1 year guarantee so I would just check and be 100% before you buy anything. I keep eyeing up the oled tvs in there but the amount of discount vs reduced guarantee make it a false economy.

Also there are no returns unless it is faulty in the swindon outlet store, may be the same here too. Worth checking.

When you've put as much effort into this site as me, posting deals and making it what it is, I'll take your input on board, but for the time being my mate Achmed said "SILENCE"...

Exactly what i mean, no need for that. I have put plenty of advice and help on here, i dont put deals on because most deals i do see are already up. BUT you shouldnt put someone down just because you THINK it might be rubbish. As i say if one person saves money its worth putting on here. So no need for the attitude .

I haven't a clue what planet your even on
I come on here to have a laugh and help out all the time!
Saying it'll be the usual rubbish is hardly putting the OP down, their from Newcastle we can take banter, you clearly take things the wrong way and need to lighten up before you have a heart attack. JL have this deal on every year and it is all rubbish lol

Nope even if I have they said I still could. Might not always be the case but I made a point of checking this before buying as couldn't decided if wife would need small or large. I've also seen lots about Fitbit having poor support for syncing and notifications on many android devices so confirmed I could also return if we had those issues. They just said try to keep the box and make sure to bring the charging cable.

I don’t mind if someone thinks it’s crap, it’s fair comment but as long as me posting this helps someone out!!

I think this is unique to Newcastle at the moment, but maybe ask next time you’re in your local?

As far as I know JL can’t sell open iPhones. The reason was due to data protection.
Source: I worked there until not long ago, it was a business directive that they all went back to a central warehouse once opened regardless of them being used.

Think this has changed as they’ve had quite a few in Newcastle but they’re labelled as refurbished and graded A-C so think they must be sent somewhere to be refurbished and checked.

Returns policy clearly states it needs to be in original condition i.e unopened and unused. What these people have said to you strictly is against policy but admittedly does happen.

Many iPhones do get returned opened via online orders, as long as find my iPhone is turned off they are re-sellable. Phones tend to be in very good condition, bought my iPhone X on markdown a few weeks ago in JL.

Regardless of FMiP being off they used to get sent back. I’m glad they’ve changed it because it was a silly thing to do.
These MFs, emailed me saying that the laptop deal was a mistake and that they wouldn't take the money off my account, but they still did ffs.
