Hi, just ring up 0844 693 1731, ask them to deliver to your home address or for click and collect. They have loads of the basic console in stock plus the other bundles. Ready to collect from Saturday (21st) or today depending if your nearest store sells PS4s.

HI guys, try and get them to price match with costco or gamestop.

I rang up and they said there were none in stock

This is most definitely not a deal .... the website shows everything out of stock ... where did you get your info from?

I wanted to order from John Lewis but they have never shown any stock at all since the release.

I just ordered one. Getting delivered to the Bluewater branch within 2 days. Thanks OP.

does this also mean they fall under their christmas sale warranty deal?

FYI, you legally have up to 6 years warranty anyway for free, for any reasonably complex device you buy like a TV or PS4 etc, due to UK Sale of Goods Act - if it breaks, you just request a repair for free from the retailer you bought it from. The two year store warranty is a great bonus in saving the hassle, but just know you always have a fall-back plan.

john lewis isn't going anywhere, unlike hmv, game and some other retailers stocking ps4. Thats why i chose them

The sale of goods act is not a 6 year warranty. After 6 months you must prove to the retailer that the fault is inherent. Items must last a reasonable time but what constitutes reasonable differs between items. You have 6 yes in which to claim but it may involve independent reports and maybe small claims court. Soga protects retailers too

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to erko247. My sister in law ordered from the Sony store a couple of months back and was promised it would be with her by Christmas. They phoned today to say they couldn't get it to her till the new year. I searched but you'll never guess, couldn't get one until the new year, then I read your thread and thought ill give John Lewis a call, got one from Oxford street no probs and can get it before the big day. So thank you again

amazon told me wont have stock till 17th Jan and I actually dont mind waiting.

My bro got his day 1 and there is not one game I want to buy so no point me getting a PS4 yet.

I dont like NFS and Killzone is one of the most boring FPS shooters I have ever played. Great graphics but SP is so damn boring and bland.

Rubbish not a deal for 2 reasons
1 .. Avalible lots of place now ( my local asda had some a few days ago)
2 ..RRP

Battlefield is good for blowing stuff up lol, but your best of with a squad in that game. 32 vs 32 is crazy

Typical misunderstanding of SOGA by an internet legal adviser.

It's not always that easy. I had a £1000 Sony Vaio burn to a gruesome death due to a well documented defective Nvidia graphics card 18 months after purchase. However, Currys would only give me half of the purchase price on a credit note. I really wouldn't be reliant on the SOGA and 'expect' a repair/full refund in place of a standard retailer warranty.

any item in the UK shuld/must have 2yrs warranty as standard. If anyone is giving you 1yrs warranty (uk retailer for UK item), they are breaking the law simple as that.
in addition you have up to 6yrs to claim any warranty related issues.

If the bit about the two year warranty is correct why do so many retailers only offer 1 year as standard? If you take TV's as an example the only retailers that do anymore than 1 year as standard on a regular basis are John Lewis and Richer sounds. If look at Tesco or Curry's they never to my knowledge offer extended guarantees for free just a standard one year.

Not true. The UK didn't adopt that bit of European law as our sog act is stronger. That does mean that problems in first to years will always go in your favour in court hence you don't hear or see these cases in court. A decently worded letter to head office sorts the problem.

Sigh, why do so many people post things they know nothing about.

The two year warranty as already pointed out was not adopted in UK law as the SOGA was already in place.

Regarding the SOGA, it is not a warranty nor are you covered for 6 years. You have 6 years to make a claim which is totally different.

this is not what I meant. How is it a deal if you can get PS4 for this price nearly anywhere. 2 yrs warranty is not a deal either as I have mentioned earlier that this should be (by law) given as standard. Friend of mine bought an iMac from apple (they had 1 year warranty at that time in their T&C) which broke after 14months (faulty HDD). Told him to go to apple and claim under EU directive that any EU country has 2 yrs warranty (ec.europa.eu/con…htm not the actual directive but at that time I found it). They could not argue with it and fixed it for him. Few months after there was a story that in Italy apple declined warranty after 12 months which they were fined for.
In terms of 6yrs refund I have done this before (thanks to google "device +your fault"). took me about 4-5 months to get the case resolved but even got a refund for postage lol
