Cute, functional and fun; the John Lewis Spectrum DAB/FM clock radio is a smart choice for your morning wake up call. A handy snooze function also lets you get a few more minutes first thing. The soft touch finish also makes it easy to pick up and carry around.
Key benefits:
Dual DAB and FM wavebands allow you to listen to your favourite analogue stations or crystal clear digital broadcasts.

The soft touch rubber finish is pleasant and secure in the hand.

A powerful speaker means clearer playback and a louder alarm.

A headphone socket lets you listen to your music without bothering others.

With 20 station presets, skipping between your favourite stations is as simple as a button press.

An easy to use alarm and snooze function help you to rise bright and early, or just catch an extra 40 winks.

Please note that the backlight can be set to switch itself off in the options menu.

Looking at it guys the reviews don't look favourable, in fact they look pretty downright awful.

Anyone confirm if this can be charged via USB battery pack? Would be perfect for camping!

Does this Spectrum come with a separate tape deck?

I was interested but then read the reviews. shame as price was okay.

Bad reviews, reduced for a reason it would seem.

Cute?

Pretty sure I used to have one like this back in the 80's. Man, that was a great doorstop.

John Lewis have jumped the shark.

That would have been an achievement as there was no DAB the 80s.

The photos show no separate power socket, so I'd assume its power supply is a USB charger and therefore it would work happily with a battery pack.

I got one of these 6 months ago to replace an older DAB
setting it up & tuning it, etc. works exactly like my old one (which was not bought from John Lewis or any partners).
It is a little complicated at first because of the amount of menus & sub menus to set the alarm, but you can set it for 1 day or 5 day or weekends or 7 day + it has 2 alarm options.

Power is via is a USB cable & plug - TBH £20 for a DAB radio alarm is a bargain.. unless they have dropped that much in price everywhere.
cant help with the battery side of things though.

As for the brightness - its actually adjustable once you find it in the menus!

dont think its going to load any programmes this one !

Use your phone as an alarm - it's 1000% easier to set and more intelligent.

Then get a £25 Tesco DAB radio, several colours available and these do look cute as well as having 100s of positive reviews.

Lets hope that Tesco does not go the way of Asda and stop doing decent own brand electronics.

Is this the 16 or 48K version?
