Have you considered the possibility that maybe, just maybe, this isn't the deal for you...?

It won't go on sale - why would it when people are paying RRP for it / …It won't go on sale - why would it when people are paying RRP for it / above the RRP on ebay and Amazon?Just witnessed a dozen or so ads where the price for this is already up to £750 + in bidding wars!

Can't say I'm convinced it will go on sale as the market for it is too limited given the price, but it will certainly be available at a decent discount with a combination of VIP points and other offers at the Lego Shop at some point.

That said I wonder how many of those people rubbing their hands at the small profit they have made on Ebay (no profit on a £750 Ebay sale anyway after fees and shipping) would feel the same if they realised that buyers have 180 days to return an item paid for with Paypal. If the buyer is savvy enough to return it as 'not as described', on which Ebay never side with the seller for any reason, the seller has to pay return shipping and will probably be left with an opened box, potentially with bits missing. You could be faced with a huge loss potentially.

Not really a relevant comparison though is it? I've had a decent holiday for less, again not really relevant.

And, I bet the resale value of the LEGO is a lot higher after two years than those 'half decent cars'.

*whoosh*

PS No, I made profit on both cars, one was an old Mexico.... guess how much I made on buying a Mk I Mexico for less than £600...?

From the internet, it costs Lego around 10 cents a block which is 7p. …From the internet, it costs Lego around 10 cents a block which is 7p. There is 7500 pieces of Lego in this set, which comes to £525 (0.07 X 7500). I was expecting the profits to be more than half of what their asking. But this view makes it seem not as bad. Still expensive for me but did open my eyes.

No way it's 7p per piece, more like 0.7p.
Would love to own this but no chance of getting it past my wife.

George Lucas must be spinning in his grave*, in the thought of all that money he's missing out on.

Heat. Made my day.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, RRP is not a deal. Wait until it is back in stock at Lego and get VIP points plus a free promotional set. Alternatively, wait until Smyths Toys starts to stock it - you know it will be 20% off sokner or later.

That is price per block in lego sets sold at the lego store and not how much it costs lego to make it.
Would live this set....for...ahem....my son but think my wife would kill me if I spent that much on one lego set.

It will go on sale eventually. Idiots are only paying more than Rrp because they want it immediately (or panic buying) whilst there are stock issues. Lego have said that this will be available throughout 2018. It is not a limited edition. At least wait and buy it direct from Lego, benefitting from the vip points a free promotional set.

But, could that car do the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs?

(Cue long rants about parsec being a unit of distance and not time)

I never knew a girl called Kessel, besides, a gentleman would never comment....
Lego agent just confirmed they are 'making more' and will be in stock soon - check daily:

Wendy • 4:07 PM
We are making more, we are just waiting for hear from the warehouse on a date. I can only suggest to keep checking LEGO.com. I have my son check daily.

This site is filled with things at RRP now which the mods happily comment thanking the poster or commenting they want the item. They should either be in misc or a separate heads up section. They don't really care as long as they get their money they will remove posts as they see fit with no real consistency at all.

To me this site is more about helping people (don’t care if HUKD are making money). If the RRP is bothering you than don’t click on the link.

My first car was a Mk II for £50 (not a Mexico), but did have a scalextric version of yours!
At that price I think I will stick to my stickle bricks.
Filling the lofts of the nation fuelled by the press bs that's it's a better investment than gold. Idiots.
