Probably a good price for hampers, but still doesnt seem like value to me.

Nor me, always well overpriced to begin with

still more than normal retail price if you ask me. still cold for me am waiting for the 90% off deal at the end of the sale

agreed, i bought the hp mediasmart server for a bargain £305 and it also came with a free M&S hamper 'worth' £50....unfortunately as hp took forever to deliver they ran out of hampers and sent me £50 M&S vouchers instead.......lol, i know what id rather have!!!! real value of the £50 hamper is prob about £10-15

The temptation now sold out

Stupidly overpriced in the first place, and still overpriced even after the reductions. Who buys these things?

2/3rds off the original price seems like a deal to me......no worries.....I'll look out for BOGOF Turkey Twizzler deals at Aldi....

No need to take your ball home. Your post was appreciated - it's just that these (and all) hampers are sold at grossly inflated prices, so even at 2/3 off they're still overpriced. Somebody will want them, though - thanks for posting. ;-)

are tesco going to be selling their hampers at cut prices again?
cant find them at all on the web site

in terms of retail price reduction yeah a lot cheaper so in that respect a deal nice one poster , but doesn't seem like money well spent to me mind.

I think it's a good deal personally. People are also forgetting that it comes with basket too - I tried to find one of those to make a hamper myself a while back, and man they are expensive! This isn't just some cheap nasty basket either.
It's perhaps not a mega deal, esp compared to some stuff I've seen on here, but definitely worth a post. Thanks op

who cares if they were overpriced to begin with? that's not the price now. It's like criticising RRPs on items - irrelevant

Thing is if you are buying these purely to comsume the contents they make no sense. If you are buying a hamper as a gift (which is how they are intended) this is a good deal is it not?

Heat and rep from me and lol at the Turkey twizzler comment!

Good deal, like thelioncub says, don't forget that baskets are expensive too. Looks like it's all going out of stock fast, only indulgence left I think. Thanks for posting OP.

Only good if you want a basket otherwise you're paying £45 for 3 bottles of wine and some biscuits and jam which are about to go out of date and a christmas pudding which you're prob sick of! I'm not gonna vote either way

Good deal 2/3 off regardless of whether the items are overpriced or not to begin with - thanks for sharing!

er, 2 bottles of wine a bottle of champagne, doh!

the £45 one probably just worth it and therefore not a saving imo

I reckon 2/3rds off anything from John Lewis can be considered a deal of sorts... including these hampers...excellent quality food and drink, very nicely packaged and at a (now) decent price....just thought I'd share...but shouldve realised the Poundland brigade would find something to bitch about :-D

anyway, looks like there almost gone now ...so to all who indulged...enjoy!

As I said above - thanks for posting.

You have to accept, though, that not everyone will agree with your interpretation of what constitutes good value, and the main concern here has been that these were originally sold at grossly inflated prices, with the result that even a reduction of 2/3 didn't make them good value. It isn't a question of bitching - it's a discussion forum.

I didn't deny they are still overpriced after the reductions - but I was hardly missing the point, I was simply pointing out that saying they were "overpriced to begin with" (as you did) is pretty irrelevant.
