Nobody comes close to loving all types of music and letting the listener make up there own mind. Was so much part of growing up sadly missed.

Thanks for the spot X)
Wonderful. Thanks
Cheers Boz.
Can't say I know all the songs but I look forward to opening my mind.
Thanks
Thanks OP - brilliant and bringing back so many memories.

Now does anyone have the last hour of Radio London itself?

Their Final Hour, as the programme was called, celebrated recorded greetings of farewell and remembrance from recording stars of the day. Included were the voices of Mick Jagger, Cliff Richard, Ringo Starr and Dusty Springfield. Managing director Birch thanked the DJs and staff and others involved throughout the station's life, as well as the politicians and others who fought for the station – and its 12 million listeners in the United Kingdom and 4 million in the Netherlands, Belgium and France'. This was followed by the last record A Day in the Life by The Beatles. This was followed by Paul Kaye's final announcement: "Big L time is now three o'clock, and Radio London is now closing down."

I had it on reel to reel Many years ago, but long since disintegrated, I'm afraid.

White.
Loved John Peel - such an icon in the music industry and sadly missed.

I know this will come across as sacrilege to some, but whilst the music is undoubtedly terrific IMHO it would be much better if it didn't have JP talking such tosh inbetween.
I think you'll find most people have voted this hot because it's not just the music but also the man who introduced so many people to so many different bands and genres, in my case for almost 30 years. Thanks for posting this gem, great find.
