Haahahahaha i`ll stick to tinned tuna.

This is a very cheap version of Caviar, the dear stuff comes from the Sturgeon fish.

The best caviar comes from Sturgeon from the black sea I believe it is described as a "delicacy" which usually means it tastes awful and cost's a fortune but Rich people eat it anyway for kudos purposes.

If it was Beluga I would have been tempted.....yeah right!

"Beluga caviar is caviar consisting of the roe (or eggs) of the Beluga sturgeon Huso Huso. found primarily in the Caspian Sea. It can also be found in the Black Sea basin and occasionally in the Adriatic Sea. Beluga caviar is the most expensive type of caviar, with present market prices ranging from $7,000 to $10,000 per 1 kg (2.2 lb).[1][2] Similar to the Beluga Caviar, there is the caviar from the "River Beluga" Huso Dauricus."

This is not what most people would consider caviare, it is lumpfish roe. Might as well advertise cheap lobster and give you a tin of prawns. :-D

I was in B & M recently and saw 'Harry Ramsden's Beer Batter Mix', with the instruction on the packet, 'Just add your favourite beer'
I love B & M, where else. (apart from Mexico) would you see pickled cactus?

says lumpfish, so you know what you're getting, 79p h0t price!

Had Beluga caviar once and let's say I will never have it again! It tasted vile.

:giggle:

Good deal for lumpfish (a.k.a. ]lumpsucker) roe but this is NOT caviar. I'm surprised they're actually allowed to call it that name...
For information they also come in red (naturally an unappetizing shade of grey but colouring is added to the brine). Spread them on little squares of toasted bread and they will make a brilliant hors d'oeuvre (for those who like the taste of sea water anyway), or add unusual colours to your buffet.

Voted hot although misleading product branding. Ah, marketing...

Its an acquired taste and not for every one, I dont mind a drop on a fresh blini, preferably served with a good vodka served straight from the freezer.

There are standards in life that one should keep, I wouldn't miss the fish eggs if I never had them again, but Vodka from the freezer that is a must, its a shame that most bars keep it at room temperature.

Nope  Seriously though....who does?!?

I do lol, shame there is no b & m store near me, this is normally about £3 sumthing a pot at sainsburys, so therefore good deal!

voted hot for the price.........but ewwwwww!

Most supermarket type caviar available will be lumpfish or other 'imitations'. I had a small tin (about 200g) imported by a friend from Iran and even then it was about £70, definitely worth it though as the difference is clear when compared to lumpfish eggs.

Sainsbury's has been doing lumpfish 'caviar' for about £3/4, which I find myself buying when I can't get hold of the real thing at a semi-decent price. I end up being much more liberal with portions when using the lumpfish variety though
