i have been paying £18 after some discount for vivid100 with Virgin. They refused to give me any better offer after staying with many years. This is slightly better deal with £50 tracked quidco. Looking forward to see how JL broadband will work.. if they stick to their minimum speed then it would be good enough.

scunny

Not always. I've tried on 3 different occasions for a better deal to stay with BT, nothing like that on offer to me.

grazie

Cheers OP.

Which previous JL fibre-to-the-cabinet offers have you seen then, please? I saw ADSL.

I've spent a couple of hours on the phone trying to fix the issues, had to pay several bills online or on the phone as online payment system down. I've also had additional charges levied due to non payment. I've been pushing for compensation recently as I've had enough with the issues, DD isn't this difficult. JL did confirm they were changing their payment system and also asked me to prove I had paid August bill twice as they couldn't check payments - this did not sit well! Good luck, I feel the end is nigh for me (one way or another).

kitster1874

Yep. Loads. Been a bloody nightmare tbh. Kx

Laptop and £65 cashback received though DD still not working, anyone else had direct debit issues?

bonzobanana

Already had the quidco cashback paid a week or so ago. I think my mother has too and put in her bank. Still playing about with the laptop. Will probably sell it but enjoy using it for the moment as I like new gadgets.

Muig1972

Yeah, Topcashback have paid me the £50.

My Google Home arrived on Saturday.

DigiDougs

My broadband went live 8 days ago, although I have had issues, lost phone and broadband, which required a BT engineer visit, the overhead line had been damaged by a tree (obviously just wear & tear issue, nothing to do with JL) Back working now so I will be contacting JL regarding the Goggle Home.

Ashe

Anyone get the Google Home yet?

I ordered bt last week. There was a good deal. Thanks mate

If it helps, I actually ordered Fiber Extra with John Lewis yesterday (with the free Google Home) for £36.50 a month. I then was contacted today by BT offering me 80mb BT Infinity 2 for £24 a month (inc line rental and evening/weekend calls) if I stayed with them instead, and I thought that was a good enough deal to stick with them (one of my mates has just taken the same deal with them - but 18 months for £40 per month!). At the end of the day, play hard ball with your current suppliers and see how much they want to keep you - I've never gone so far as actually ordering with someone else before, and this was actually by accident this time, but it seems like the best deals these days are for retentions (if you can be bothered with the hassle!). Again, my experience wasn't necessarily the best deal out there (I managed to somehow have Sky Entertainment and Fiber for £12 a month two years ago !) but it's worth the hassle if you can get them to give you a good deal :)

Did this yesterday as BT sent me an email saying prices were going up in January, if you're also doing this make sure you call BT once they send you an email confirming your cancellation charges, they waved the £55 hardware fee and my final contract month amount even though I'm moving to JL. Since JL is really Plusnet in disguise I'd imagine the service will be pretty good, the BT guy also tried to tell me their service might be rubbish! Also got confirmation Quidco £50 had been tracked straight away, so if you can sell the Google Home it could bring this down to £7.50 a month for standard ADSL! You can also buy a static IP for one-off £5 for anyone that needs one.

aphd163

That didn't include line rental £15.50.

When and how long ago? https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2017/08/uk-isp-john-lewis-broadband-cuts-fttc-fibre-prices-12-months.html The prices at the moment are actually cheaper than the equivalent Plusnet (the company who's backbone they use/resell) charges..

Great minds and all that.... https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/32625616

JL Fibre used to be £22.50 per month with the extra at £27.50. This is a huge price increase.

Wasn't aware John Lewis do broadband For £26.50 including line rental and as PEACE of mind. You can can expect good service and speeds.
Newbold

True - they've completely lost it. Awful reviews, and they can't all be fake.

bottle123

I've noticed this lately especially when price matching goods! Shame really would normally only buy all my electricals etc from them because of the service even if it cost slightly more

AR2012

even better is the SSE deal but there have been a few objections raised. Link

I USED to love JL, not now, customer service is terrible, as bad as any now. Have a look online at review sites, nothing like the John Lewis of the past

rhodyate

Love John Lewis, but this is not a good deal = Cold
