Johnnie Walker Gold 18 - discontinued £44.95 @ Amazon

Found 3rd Nov 2015
Johnnie walker 18 year old blend.

As Midge has mentioned in the comments, this is not the same as the "gold reserve".
A comparable label would be the platinum, but even then many people prefer this to the platinum as they're 2 different blend recipes.

This whisky was discontinued in 2012 and replaced by "gold reserve" , and platinum label - though not the same .
Because it's the old packaging it's being sold off cheap I imagine.

If you were a fan of this then this is your chance to grab it at a cheap price .
It's £65-70 in stores that still have stock.

Sorry , I'm typing from my phone so I don't have links to any reviews of this but feel free to google them if you want to have a quick read up.

Personally I've never tried this one, so I've ordered a bottle

Your link brings up the Gold Label Reserve but bobtastic is talking about the 18 year old Gold Label.

Easy to get them mixed up.

Nice find pal and as its an outside provider * I can order it, cheers.

Would expect this to rise in value in a few years if unopened.

* (Amazon will no long supply spirits to Northern Ireland)

A good link for info on this blend . . .

clicky

what's the "second hand" whiskey market like for selling ? I wouldn't be able to resist opening it !

Thanks for that. I'm really not sure whether or not to get a bottle of this for my whisky-loving Dad who has quite a few 18 year old's (Whisky that is oO) hidden away and perhaps a bottle for myself simply to hold on to and see if it becomes worth anything in a few years. If not, I'll drink it. However, there's quite a few reviews suggesting it isn't very good so I'm in a quandary to buy it or not. Typical of HUKD I'm trying to save this November and stumble on a well-priced discontinued whisky at £45 a bottle X)

Voted hot nevertheless.
