I have just returned from trip to Asia. Duty Free shops no longer sell cheap esp single malts and Scotch Whiskys. Costco and other super markets offer excellent deals for single malts. The only issue is baggage and safety of the bottles during travel.

Been to Costco yesterday I compared the Johnnie Walker prices and they are better @ Costco. For JW enthusiasts, JW Blue label 119.98, JW Platinum 53.38, JW Gold 33.58, JW Double Black 22.78 and JW Blacl label is 20.98 including VAT. All are 70 cl bottles.

Royal Salute 70 cl 77.98 GBP

World Duty Free sells JW Black label one litre @ Two for GBP 55 Otherwise each bottle is sold at 31.99 GBP.

I invite to share here a better deal if you know one. Thanks.

I agree, I've been snapping up a bottle of double black every other visit - lovely drop!

I'm sure black was about £20 at morrisons recently (maybe still), alot of supermarkets offer these prices on offer, I usually use Froogle.co.uk. I don't think anyone will touch the Blue Label price, although I haven't priced that in a long while. Just for reference, Blue Label was £150 upwards a few years back.

Johnnie Walker is a blended whisky not a single malt.

Good deal, sadly I live in Devon and the nearest store is nearly 100 miles away! Oh well, heat added anyway.

Should say 'from' £20.78 - was almost in the car ready to go sign up and grab a dozen bottles of blue!!

I was travelling through Singapore and Dubai in February and the GBP cost of Platinum worked out around the £30 mark for a litre.

in september travelling back from Alicante we paid £10.50 for a litre bottle of Red Label (though flying out from Manchester we paid £25/Litre of Red Label)

The Blue Label is significantly cheaper than I can buy it as a member of staff.

Blue label is my favorite. Fantastic whisky but it cost a lot.

I can confirm that. Just got back from South Africa changing flights at Dubai. Whisky is not as cheap as it used to be.
Bought two bottles of Dalmore Whisky 15 Year Old Malt as $82 per 1L = £50/L. It is selling in the UK Price per litre: £74.21
Difference is probably greater with more expensive brands.
Same goes for perfumes as well.

Op you realise the ones in duty free are 1 litre bottles right so the prices aren't comparable? These are still great prices however but just so you know. I could get 2 one litre black labels for fifty pounds in Heathrow

I work for Diageo and pay more as a member of staff!

You are lucky to get them (One litre JW Black Label) for 50 GBP. I bought Two One Litre JW Black label for 55 GBP on offer at World Duty Free Heathrow T5 on 29 November 2013. Original price for each one litre is 31.99 GBP. You are correct, Duty Free sells one litre bottles and the Prices are JW Platinum 87.49 GBP, JW Gold 56.99 GBP (which works out to be 61.24 and 39.89 for 70cl respectively.) I dont have the JW Blue prices from WDF. WDF also sells Royal Salute 18 year 70cl for 95.99 GBP But Costco sells same at 77.98 GBP.
