Fab car seat, decent enough price now it's down to £30 but if you use code saferseat20 it takes it down to £24, you are supposed to take an old cushion type booster seat in to trade in to get it for this price & it's not supposed to be available for delivery either with the code, but my friend ordered one with home delivery no problem & her sister was so impressed she ordered one to C+C & didn't take a cushion one in to trade & it was fine.
The seat itself has excellent reviews across the net as do all Joie car seats. Halfords are running a campaign to get people to use high back booster seats rather than the cushion type as many motoring organisations & others suggest they are far safer to use, so they are offering 20% off quite a range of high backed booster & child car seats to encourage people to change their way of thinking.
I'll pop links in 1st post to others in offer.
The Joie Trillo Eco Child Car Seat is designed and engineered to give your little one a friendly boost from four years on. With layers of protection, this car seat will keep little riders sheltered and it's height adjustable headrest will provide flexible comfort as your child grows. it also has ventilated, machine washable fabrics keeping your little one cool and clean.

yes as stated in the op, but it appears that it can be bypassed, a few have managed to do so.

It's better to be completely informed - knowledge = power, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on the product
We got ours 20% off via code,so think they sell for £24, but they want people to feel it's a good deal, imagine they just bin all the all 'traded' car seats for safety reasons anyhow.
Thanks. Ordered two for collection. Took in order confirmation which showed price as £24. Went through till at £30 but was manually reduced to match my paperwork.
some just don't bother reading
I am more interested in what the car seat is made off. Cant find that anywhere except "With layers of protection" - is that the white foam I see most other car seats are made off and offer no protection at all in a major accident? It costs me almost £300 6 years ago for the best car seat - it was a Concorde at the time and we are still using it today although my daughter wants rid now but I have said not yet. Shes 10 now. If you see what happens to that white foam car seats in a crash you will be shocked. All I am saying is be aware, your children are precious and not replaceable. Unfortunately good quality costs.
good car seat with good reviews from various websites and made for mums, bought 2 and am very pleased, got the 20% off and didnt have to part with my booster seats either.

The "padding" is designed to absorb the energy from an impact. If it was too soft, it would simply compact (absorbing only a tiny bit of energy) and then transmit the energy to your child. If it was too hard, it would just transmit the energy straight to your child. Some of the polystyrene foams are designed to break apart, in doing so, it takes the energy out of the impact, similar to how a car's crumple zone works.

Polystyrene is a reasonable material, after all, it's what cycling helmets are made out of!

I find your assumptions quite objectionable. What gives you the right to suggest that people who bought this car seat care less for children than you do. Is it the fact that six years ago you spent £300 on a car seat? I once spent £14,000 on a kitchen, does that now make me an expert?
Sorry for the number of quotes above, Granddaughter kept hitting keys like they were going out of fashion.
