Forever alone in a crowd, failed comedian Arthur Fleck seeks connection as he walks the streets of Gotham City. Arthur wears two masks -- the one he paints for his day job as a clown, and the guise he projects in a futile attempt to feel like he's part of the world around him. Isolated, bullied and disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker

Streaming isn’t true 4K pointless....
What is 'true 4k'? Even at 1440p but with HDR/WGC and the higher bit-rate Atmos track the Itunes streams are far ahead of the HD stream on Prime etc.

Pointless it all depending on your broadband you can tell a slight difference but against a 4K blu day it worthless, Atmos yeah all well and good if you have a speaker but 99.99999% of people don’t have it
Notwithstanding the above debate it's a very good film just unnecessary violence in places
We’re comparing to amazon stream though, not the 4K disc. I would personally say there is a step up in quality in that sense

The violence was very realistic, I don't think unnecessary in the context of the story. It was the best film of last year, no question.

Nope best movie of last year was 1917

Well that's the thing about opinions, everyone has one. We just happen to disagree.
Quite a few good films were released last year

Define "true 4K". I could explain why you're wrong, but can't be bothered, as there's too many of these idiotic posts. So I'll just say it simply... you're wrong.

Atmos requires more than "a speaker".

The Atmos audio will be compressed too if streaming

Ok then a couple of speakers or a soundbar

it’s compressed and probably as good as 1080p so it’s not true 4K almost certainly missing HDR it’s pointless the joker 50p cheaper at amazon prime video

News flash, discs are compressed too.

“Probably” as good as 1080p? You haven’t tried it have you? It not 1080p, it’s 4K. I’ve done comparisons with HD Blu-ray and 4K streaming is noticeably sharper, because, guess what? It’s 4K!

What do you mean “missing HDR”?

The Joker is £2.49 to rent at Amazon. It’s HD SDR, not 4K Dolby Vision/Atmos like iTunes.

Jesus.....who cares... like I said earlier all dependant on your fibre speed, and besides 99.99% wouldn’t care less about 4K picture quality in if people were serious 4K blu day would have taken off by now I've used 4K streaming and doesn’t make the difference up when comparing to blu day but against ultra blu there a massive difference to streaming

like I’ve said for 100th time it’s 50p cheaper on amazon does it matter it’s hd
All video and audio on disc and streaming is compressed
Video on UHD disc is around 3 times the bit-rate of streaming but the 4K PQ on streaming is usually still very good
Audio on disc is lossless compressed and does sound better than streaming (lossy DD+). The streaming Atmos tracks tend to have a slightly higher bit-rate so they're worth looking out for.

But PQ, value, and convenience wise Itunes streaming is still the best way to build up a 4K collection

Back to this deal, if you're going to end up watching a film just once then you might as well just rent 4K at this price

Well you cared enough to troll here.

The evidence is against you though. The differences to 4K disc are irrelevant unless pixel peeping, which is not how you would watch a film.

How is the evidence against me it’s fact a ultra blu Ray is far superior to 4K streaming which is closer to 1080p blu Ray without knowing you can’t tell a d
I'm guessing I can't watch itunes films on xbox one. Really want to see this film in 4k. My xbox wont recognise my TV as 4k when playing in prime for some unknown reason. YouTube plays fine in 4k. But can't see it to rent on YouTube.

Joker 4k is £2.49 on Google maybe I can rent it there and steam it to xbox but not sure if it would work

The fact that you describe the violence as "unnecessary" means that the film has accomplished its goal IMO. The Joker is supposed to make you uncomfortable like that.

Each to their own I guess.

I think that the film carries a very strong mental health story. Certainly something that I would be keen for my daughter to learn about but I wont be taking my 15 year old to see it.
No matter what anyone says about the film, there is no denying that the scene where the Joker is interviewed on the Murray Franklin Show is one of the most amazing ever brought to film
