It's a fantastic book. I actually bought 2 so I can lend one out to friends.
Good book. Listened to it on audible.

A libertarian , telling people to live by 12 rules and degrading others for not following them ? Hmm no matter how articulate its sadly simplistic .
Thanks. Only heard of him from watching the c4 'interview'' the other week.

Karl Popper crushed Marx and Marxism years ago . No one of any influence believes in such simplistic tosh . Yes I am its fatuous and simplistic. His trying to sell a book. His also Candaian ?

A review by that left wing (sarcasm ) Fincial Times is hardly glowing ft.com/con…10b
I've only recently discovered his videos but I find him quite interesting; he certainly gave Cathy Newman a run for her money. The only thing I don't like is the Alt Right tribe who relentlessly follow him and have to label all the videos with 'Jordan Peterson DESTROYSSSS (someone)'. Other than that, gr8 bants.
GeorgeR010 that kinda nails it ...

Where is the evidence of this “siege”?

British classical liberal = individual freedom, small state, personal responsibility. Libertarianism can also used roughly to define this.

He’s found a clever way of pandering to all the alt right and dressed it up as a critique of “Neomarxism” or some kind of communist agenda to destroy the west.

Completely agree with his stance on gender pronouns and free speech and he is a well respected academic, but this neomarxism nonesense is only barking up the money tree.

Run for her money ?
Every single time when he explain his stance on some issue, she completely missed the point and told the audience what she heard.
At the end of the interview , i could not say, if she is doing that on purpose, or she is just too stupid to understand.
I incline to the second option.

The whole interview could be summed up by this:

Oh, and to your alt right tribe comment.
Well, for today leftists (like Cathy Newman), if you dont agree on everything they say, you are altright.
She even called HIM alt right.

Do you agree with him on wage gap ? Or any other opinion he mentioned in the interview ?
Well , for Cathy and people like her , you are alt right too...

In the 20th century, what preceded the inhuman acts (150m dead) of the various socialist states? The death of freedom of speech. It's happening in front of your eyes in your own country (assuming you're from the UK, like me). If you think human capacity for evil at the state level has simply disappeared, like it lost a logical argument and sulked off home, then you are at best naive. How do you explain Jeremy Corbyn's statements and his party's popularity, particularly with the millennial youth?

order-order.com/201…ed/ I'll just leave that there.

This book is not an anti leftist treatise, anyway. It's a self help book for people who have realised they're dissatisfied with their path in life, and want to find meaning. It's a really good read for anyone with the humility to accept they've dropped the ball in life.

I think the distinction between Neo Nazi beliefs and J.P's beliefs is pretty clear. He is a man who has spent a lifetime arguing against various socialist ideas.

I don't get it. On one hand, you say you support his stance on freedom of speech at the state level. On the other hand, you cannot see any nefarious scheming by those who wish to crush said freedoms. Do you see most of the SJW bullying, complaining and censorship coming out of the left or the right?

Well your paranoia is so noted. The only ones rushing to advocate this are book sellers , pop philosophers and people who ignore Scandinavia. Socialism is older than Marx it also contains the premise of social coooperation. You maybe thinking of communism . Its also not the death of freedom of speech. People are disagreeing with gaslighting, authoritative tonal inflections and empty rhetoric.

Scandinavia? I I don't even need to mention Sweden...

Norway was already a rich, stable nation before they created economic equality of outcome and became a welfare state. They had their shipping, fishing and oil. Then they introduced massively high levels of taxation.
Do you think that would work out well in the UK, with our population size and demographics? Living nightmare.

No, as an example, let's try Venezuela. Jezza was only just congratulating his little mate Maduro on doing socialism "right". express.co.uk/new…deo

As a recent example, it was recently reported that doctors in Venezuela had flagged up the rising number of patient deaths to STARVATION IN HOSPITALS. Protests ensued, of course, and then came the violent crackdowns. Socialism's solution to this conundrum? The state made it illegal for doctors to register "starvation" as any patient's cause of death in future. Your warm, fuzzy socialism always turns into murder, and when that happens, the former proponents all cry the same thing: "This is not the right kind of socialism! This is not the socialism we asked for!"

I think we do . Your understanding of Sweden needs to be baked up with facts and not the stupid stories coming out of alt right filter . I have Friends and visited both Norway and Sweden over the years so am regular informed about the nonsense badly interpreted . Pleas do commentate on Venezuela , its become a ridiculous despot controlled country .. not unlike america . Neither of which is to do with their social economic structure . The UK and many countries have had starvation , death in corridors and lack of care to patients (either due to under-funding or none payment of bills ) . Drop your filters and read something else aside from the above book . There are not definitive forms of any of these systems , that is a simplistic model straight out of college political studies (You think Adam Smiths version of capatlism is the only version that exisits or has in it self never cuased wars or death ?). It also invalidates all your arguments . enjoy .

If you can honestly compare America with Venezuela, then we have nothing else to talk about. Buy or do not buy the book. You're free to choose.

Read what I said , I was not comparing them . I was pointing out that every system or country can fall to a deviation of that system and corruption . You seem to thiink only one system is inherently corrupt taht is nonsense .
May I recommend a better book , by a great mind and intelectaul who not only took down Marx and was teh first major critic of Plato . A book that will long live after us all (also I think avaliable in cheaper forms on Abebooks , Amazon etc ) routledge.com/The…216
