'Don't stop being a pop culture wh0re etc...'

I have always loved Dont Stop Believing but now I feel like the song has been taken away from me and its all because of that bloody Simon Cowell and X factor . I even heard a dance version when i was out on Sat night . sniff sniff .
If I had played it 6 months ago the Ugg boot , Velour wearing girls would have said turn that crap off Grandad but now its been on X-factor its all like "ooh I love this song but I prefer the Original by Susan Boyle !"

**** them still a great song been playing it for years and always will.

Started about a year before that when it appeared on a Family Guy episode and all the fans/geeks/students hijacked it but then went into overdrive once it was on X Factor for all the Pi Keys to see youtube.com/wat…ted

The only reason it was used on X Factor was because it was one of the featured songs on GLEE in the states (which released two tracks a week through Itunes). this led to 550000 downloads off of Itunes and Cowell being the canny ****** that he is, decided to use it in his show (knowing that GLEE wouldn't be shown over here until a couple of months later).

What does it matter? I'll bet that Journey can't believe their luck - thousands of people forking out for their greatest hits album based on someone else's version of one of their songs. I'll bet that most of the punters will play the rest of the songs on the album once before it is relegated to the CD shelf.
