Better off just whacking your chips in the oven, cheaper too!

Better off waiting for black/white/yellow/blue Friday (whatever they're marketing it this year to trick a lot of people into thinking there's a sale on).
But anyway, the 1 think that I have noticed come up for sale are the Philips actifry.

Cheap as chips!

Might be worth popping in if it is nearby - but certainly wouldn't make a special trip out of your way

Ah the company fined £1,000,000 earlier this year, still the Pepsi is a great bargain price if you can find it 😊

Rubbish.
14 units is the absolute maximum you should drink, not healthy, and 15 is excess. Alcohol full of carb, calories and triglycerides not to mention liver disease.

Sugar bad in excess, but you realise it doesn't tell you to down the whole bag in one go like you do your rum...

Landman 2 gas burner £47.99 @ JTF

Found 25th AugFound 25th Aug
2 gas burner with storage either side and for this price really good you need to become a member tho but its free so hope this helps someone

I bought one of these at the end of last summer (about £30 from an eBay vendor I think). It is quite small, fiddly to assemble and not very well made, but it works fine and suits my needs (mine is spelled Landmann - giving the impression it might have been made in Germany, but I think it is the same item as this post).
Would I pay £50 for it at this time of year (everyone is dumping summer stuff)? Probably not,, but when it drops to about £30 again (soon I should think) it would be fine.
In conclusion: the product is okay, but no more than that so this is not a particularly hot deal.

I bought one of these from tesco last autumn for £25 so worth bearing that in mind.

Bought 4 off these for the garage and there are side by side and rock solid.. I wouldnt trust 175KG on every shelf but 100KG on each shelf would be fine.

Just an update. I've finally constructed one. They are quite sturdy once assembled. It took a while mind. The MDF is 4mm and they are galvanized according to the instructions. Good value for the money. As mentioned they get their rigidity from the ground up.

Original Poster

Just been reading the screwfix reviews for a similar 5 tier at 24.99 which was 20 recently, and it seems that one is also pressed metal and the L shaped struts can be twisted fairly easily also. You get what you pay for I guess.

Original Poster

I have just bought some, not opened the box yet. I saw them in store and the frames were flexible metal. Having second thoughts now reading your comment. They did appear to slide lock together rather than rivets? I haven't seen others around the same money to compare. Are the screwfix etc ones rigid metal frames? The MDF is about 3mm. They certainly weren't worth the RRP.

Warning!! I just received my shelf units.

Unless someone can explain to me how it's done, am I correct that the entire shelving unit cannot be easily lifted vertically (to reposition it when empty)? Unless I have misunderstood how it fits together, everything is literally held together by gravity.

You cannot pick up the shelving unit from the waist up without everything falling apart.

If this is correct, I would strongly dissuade anybody from buying this unit, unless you really need the most temporary of shelving units. I might have to run to the hardware store to find bolts and attempt to make it more stable.

Anyone else unalbe to add the item into the basket?

Their shops are open to the public but you do need to register for a free membership card. Can be done on the day if desired. The place has a big mix of stuff. Garden, home, DIY, furniture, some clothes, toys, food basics, all sorts of stuff. They are large warehouse style stores. A bit like Makro I think. We don't use our store all that much but they do have some good deals. We buy large 5l containers of Fairy Non-bio much more cheaply than you would get the same amount for in a supermarket. A friend told us about them. Worth popping in if you have one nearby.

Great price for a sun lounger, especially if you're local to a JTF store and don't have to pay delivery.

Sun lounger up north got to be joking, hang on the the suns just come out must dash.

I found this chair to be very confusing and painful. You use uour own weight to move chair positions then trap your skin.

Guess it depends on how heavy you are

I've got 3 of these, comfy and adjustable but... if you're over 95kgs there's a bolt which likes to snap. Easy to fix but had to buy a pack of them.

Seems to be the same as this Amazon listing - a few reviews, mostly seem good. But a couple of reviews mention them being flimsy. Take from the reviews what you will, but majority seem good.

Apple has obsoleted this and the following year's MacBook. Bring it in and you will be sent packing.

This is the 2009 model with the GeForce 9400M. The 2010 model was the last of the plastic MacBooks and had the nVidia 320M. The main problem with these was the rubber covering on the base that got filthy and gradually detached itself. Apple had to set up a repair programme for that.
This will run Sierra and maybe High Sierra but £300 for an eight year old basic model laptop is nuts.

They'll probably just tell you it's too old or slow to do whatever it is you're trying to do.

Even so just because they have a helpline doesn't mean it's any good with old old machines like this one.

Personally I wouldn't buy a Dell or HP machine anyway unless it's an ex corporate refurb that can be dismantled easily. Support beyond maybe a bit of warranty isn't really a selling point for me.

But not being crippled by Windows...

But still has the limitations of that era of hardware like Sata2 and USB2, I'm not saying that the Core2 platform is dead, far from it, I'd still recycle a Core2 Quad and tell the users to invest in some PCI-E cards for SATA3 and USB3 providing they have available V2/2x or above slots), but I'd give that machine away for free not charge £300 for it.

But this is a mac and as you said not crippled by windows, think it may have gotten some heat at a much lower price.
