I recently learnt that jump starting from modern cars can damage the ecu of the donor car. So use with care.

there are some £3.50 delivered ones that are ideal for motorbikes also - thanks

That code was for the weekend just gone.pointless posting it after on Monday morning after it's expired

Think your right,
If you must use jump leads buy the ones with Anti Surge protection, initially more expensive but could save you a lot of problems and money in the long run.

ordered! thanks for the heads up!

ordered thank you code worked great.

They're too thin so don't waste your money & not suitable for some models as jump starting sometimes damages ECU so check your cars manual first!

jump starting will never damage an ECU, the only way it will damage an ECU is by incorrectly connecting the cars.

if you can link to a single verifiable instance of jump starting a car properly being the cause of damage i'll eat my hat.
