Seems like a awesome saving for free.... so am i right that you can only use this if you have a child under 16 with you? Would be great for me if you could use it on single trips as well without the family

great deal, thanks

Who will know if you dont hhave a child with you? Surely you go through the barriers

fingers crossed cheers op

cheers, just applied

You have to purchase an adult and a child ticket, even if you child is too young to require a ticket, or the discount won't work.
Just ordered, thank you.

they wiil ask to see your freinds and family pass also on train

Great deal

Thanks, been checking the code for the past week hoping it would come up!

thanks

Isnt it better, and cheaper to book singles rather than a return. It works out allot cheaper, if you arent deaed by anythink.

I've found it works out cheaper to buy the child ticket for an invisible child, if asked when tickets are checked, kids always need the loo on a train trip! Lol

Great .... Thank you !

No ones forcing you to buy return tickets with this railcard

Nearly bought one of these at full price yesterday. Great find, thanks!

Thanks

This is a daft question. Thou i am completeing the online application, and it looks as if its aimed at familes. Can single people apply for this as well?
How would you go about it? As it ask's how many children are travelling with you. There os mo option for 0. Does this effect the valdity of the journey if you put what ever, and you dont have that number with you?

You can only use the family and friends railcard when travelling with children. Even if the child is under 5, you still qualify for the discount providing you have purchased a childs ticket - this is how the discount kicks in. You must travel with a child/children . You will be made to pay the difference if you are challenged on the train - they have heard all the excuses under the sun i.e. i have lost my child/they are sick/they are in the toilet blah blah blah - no exceptions are made.

only down side is you have to be seen buying The Daily Tax Dodger

Virgin are stringent on the use of this card and you MUST travel with at least one child. If you chance your arm they'll spot it either at the barrier or on the train and charge you the 'standard fare' - which is pretty extortionate.....

That said..... a red hot deal.....!

Thanks, i thought so. Just thought it be worth completeing it, if i wanted cheap travel to get to an airport. Shame i cant use this. Everythink is aginst the single guy. lol!

Great find, thankyou.
Have put my daughter as 2nd card holder - she's 16 so will be able to travel with her group of friends who are 15 - at least I think that should work - it does say an Adult is aged 16+ (not that she is planning on going anwhere at the moment - but tis handy to have!)
