This is with their EDxtra membership IIRC

Indeed, looks good. You can stream files off your pc but the dvd system has to be connected to your router via ethernet. JVC originally sold this for a grand on their website. However.....

Artificial surround sound nowhere near as good as 5.1.
Found very little difference in upscaling pictures.
Switching from dvd to tv audio causes a 2 second lad in sound meaning system has to be reset to solve.
Speakers run through subwoofer so it can't be hidden out of sight.
No multi-region hack.

Bought it off ebay for 88 quid and sold it on, missed my 5.1 too much.
Otherwise it would have been heat.

Trouble with a 150 quid system though is you get what you pay for. So yes its cheaper, but picture? audio? compatibilty? for 150 quid.

Depends what your individual budget and room spec. is

Another thing about that jvc is that if a video file is split into chapters you can't stream it from your pc, don't know why. Pictures, tunes, yes. But video files, no.

Might as well buy a ps3 for 60 quid odd more!
It does what this does and plays ps3 games and blurays too!
